Trust me its going to be set up on the one end as a boxing stage. If you look up the boxing events its perfect size and those fancy white tarps just drape over. This is not going to be expensive and cost as much as the entire arena. Small boxing companies use it. Its called a half house

The guy above that posted the boxing setup. It also advertises that setup for wrestling. Its going to be much cheaper and a unique setup.
I think you're talking about the Illusions Theater set-up in the Alamodome. The Alamodome website lists the venue of Lockdown as "Alamodome", if the Illusions Theater were to be used it would be mentioned that way. Even the Alamodome Facebook page admin says it will be an actual Alamodome event.

Re: Lockdown 2013: March 10 from the Alamodome in San Antonio

I think after the main seats are sold at ringside and in the riser, TNA should run some local promotion where they just give away free tickets to fill up the stadium and call it a "sold out show." Hey, WCW did it and the show will look better the more visible bodies in attendance. I like the idea of a poster had of bringing in a AAA wrestler to attract the Latino audience down in Texas. We know TNA can't really fill the dome but I'm looking for a great show with great build that feels and delivers on a legit grand stage. I want TNA to be presented on that next level and this could be huge if Lockdown is properly built and executed from the promotion, storylines, to the final card especially the main events.

If they even want to get to 20,000 I think Hogan is gonna have to wrestle. Might have to throw in Sting in there aswell. Hardy will headline which should help. I wish TNA the best.

That obviously wasn't what he meant. Why in the blue hell does TNA pay the massive rent for such a huge arena, when they are only using the boxing configuration anyway? Wouldn't it be smarter to go to a arena of much smaller size? Rents are lower. They couldn't sell out the small venues for Slammiversary and expecially BfG. There is no point in going to a huge arena, paying high rent and using the boxing set-up instead of going to a smaller arena, paying lower rent and filling the venue with a solid amount of people, maybe having the chance of a close to sell-out?

They have problems with 5.000 on U.S. territory. 10.000?! Or even 20.000? No freakin way.

I highly doubt that when you rent out the Alamodome for a smaller config, you are paying for the whole stadium. The booking fee is likely dependent on the configuration setup you are going to run.

I'd guess like you, that it's likely cheaper to rent a venue like they did for Slammy and BFG as opposed to the the Alamodome but we have nothing to prove that. It seems as such but everything is not always as it seems. Hard to be sure here. But I think the overall sound of the fans in attendance would be better captured inside a smaller venue (unless they can fill this Lockdown venue up), which is important IMO to those watching on PPV and for the DVD.

Re: Lockdown 2013: March 10 from the Alamodome in San Antonio

To be taken with a grain of salt, as always :

Quote:
According to Wrestling Observer, the feeling is that TNA may reach out to AAA to work together in an effort to sell tickets and generate interest in the San Antonio market for the Lockdown PPV at the Alamodome. Jeff and Karen Jarrett, along with Abyss and others, have been working with AAA over the past few years, so there is an established relationship there.

WWE took this approach back in 1997 when they held the Royal Rumble at the Alamodome. They used several AAA matches on the non-televised undercard, and AAA talent on the main card, including the Rumble match.

The 1997 Royal Rumble drew 60,000 fans. At this time, TNA is expected to use a 4,000 seat configuration for Lockdown.

WWE did it as well when they ran the Rumble in the 90's.

Why do you care how they spend their money? If they want to run a gigantic building let them.
