Re: James Storm: Biggest geek on the roster

Many "what if's" can be made but the BFG angle worked.
Personally I enjoyed how that defeat broke him mentally, it's the perfect heel story of someone that wanted to do things the right way and got screwed. If Roode won against Angle then that would prove hard work pays off which would give Roooo no reason to betray Storm but jealously.
This wasn't your typical tag team angle, Bobby Roode turned heel against the world not just against storm.
He's the leader of the selfish generation, he knows he's the best (IT FACTOR) and wants everything he's entitled to.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

Re: James Storm: Biggest geek on the roster

Only answer I get from any of this is TNA does it to keep Storm content and stick around.

We won't have Kurt lose at Bound For Glory. Here, take the World Championship. Not b/c you deserve it. Simply b/c it will be the way to give it to Roode without having him go over Kurt and turn heel.

Here, get built up REALLY strong to duke it out with Roode in the anticipated rematch in your hometown. Then you'll lose, become soured and leave TV to kill all momentum.

Here, lead and dominate the Bound For Glory Series. Then you'll lose to Bully Ray via Roode interference @ No Surrender so it can be the only justifiable way that you'll not head into Bound For Glory as #1 contender.

Here Storm, take this Triple Threat PPV victory to get some more credibility following your big BFG win and to begin this program for AJ Styles. You'll lose the championship shot on the tapings, but I hope the PPV win leaves you happy.

What's next? Storm gets worked into the title match at Final Resolution in the dumb fashion that Mysterio was for WrestleMania 22 only to NOT win it. That will merely be another drop in the bucket that is the hilarious booking that crushes down any and all reason for fans to give a damn about James Storm as a credible contender for the World Championship.

TNA did this shit to Joe a few years ago then when he finally won the World Title, nobody gave a fuck and his reign was a flop.

I agree, the way he lost that #1 contendership made him look like an idiot. He put it on the line against Bobby Roode when he really had nothing to gain from it. Stupid decision on creative's part.

That was the beginning of the selfish generation, at that moment Roode understood being mr. nice guy takes you nowhere. For once the result of a wrestling match meant something, best character angle in years.
You could have done the slow build of Storm getting a title shot while Roode defends the title and when they finally meet that's when Roode turns heel. Or do a slow heel turn where Roode slowly but surely turns while defending setting up for Storm/Roode.

As for Storm, Roode turning on him was fine I guess even though I wouldn't have had him win the title in the first place or even have contact with Roode again until the build for Lockdown but he had to win at Lockdown. Maybe then you couldn't have done the Option C angle with Aries, but he was so hot then you could have waited a month or two, put him in the BFG Series and then have him win. Now Storm at best will always be that third or fourth babyface that can challenge for the title every once in a while but no one will ever be truly excited if he wins as they would have if he had done it at Lockdown.

Re: James Storm: Biggest geek on the roster

I agree with all the points made, Storm shouldnt have won the 3 way in the first place but they made him win because they wanted to make him look strong. Why? Probably because they are planning a 3 way title match at the next PPV with Hardy, Roode and Storm.

Even if they do, it still doesn't change the fact that they've booked him to look like a loser. Even then, so what if he gets in? He's a loser who backs into a title shot he lost because he got played like a fiddle by Roode. Frankly, it'd be better for him to stay out of the match. That way he doesn't have to come up short in a big match situation yet again.

For Storm to be the one to pin AJ putting him out of the title scene for a year. AJ can now say "That's what you get! Why did you pin me you stupid idiot! You could have pinned the guy you've been feuding with for a year!"

Roode's smarter than Storm that's pretty much been established. Storm not pinning Roode instead of AJ has already come back and bitten him. That's the story. The fact that Storm CHOSE to pin AJ instead of Roode and then played himself by putting his title shot on the line just because Roode said something about his family. Storm's so prideful of his family that he did something so stupid, Roode knew he would do it though because Roode knows Storm better than anyone else.

You know you remember this.
