Only thing I don't like about it is how when the segment first starts, it's supposed to be "live", yet suddenly you hear the jeff hardy thoughts, and it sorta ruins the live feel to it. If they did this in a video package or something, I wouldn't mind it.

Its basically like a video game lol. Where you're controlling the main character, and halfway through something, you hear the main characters thoughts.

I guess I'm definitely in the minority when I say I was pleasantly surprised, especially with the first 'inner monologue'. I would absolutely fall into the category of those that are less than pleased with TNA's recent booking of Hardy, and I normally like most on the forum think his mic work in the past has been somewhere between unbearable and mediocre, but that's why I like this so much.

He's not being written into some corner where he has to hold a microphone and come off as incredibly artificial, cutting promos with this non-existent intensity that makes you scratch your head and wonder why isn't locked away in the X-Division where his inadequacies would be well sheltered.

The biggest problem that I have with it correlates directly with the Dexter comparisons made earlier ITT and why they shouldn't take that same approach. I believe someone wrote that Dexter is ABOUT Dexter, which is why that creative choice works, and Impact isn't ABOUT Hardy. There's the problem; I think that by consistently scripting these short segments where we here 'what Hardy's thinking', it's almost a guarantee that he will dominate the main-event scene for the foreseeable future such that Impact IS about Hardy.

So to sum it up:
Plusses- Takes the mic out of Jeff's hand avoiding a lot of lackluster apathetic and unfocused promos/Comes off as more authentic (he's a fucking weirdo space cadet, and the segments come off as such)

Minuses-Probably means a Hardy-centric main-event scene for at least the next few months if not longer. Looks like TNA wants to make those segments a staple of his character from now on.

I think they're tremendously stupid. I like them only for their comedic value. The biggest issue I take with them is that they come across as so fake. Yes, wrestling is fake, or staged, or whatever you want, and yes we as fans know this, but something like this inner monologue shit throws the fakeness in the audiences faces.

Basically this.

There is a time where wrestling can be laughed at, but by hardcore fans, it should not be laughed at when it attempts to be serious.

And it basically is the whole TNA management saying "Little kids like Jeff, and buy his shirts, but we can't really cut a good promo with him, so we're gonna cut his promo for him; all he has to do is talk."

It really is like the show is supposed to be revolved around Jeff Hardy, and he is the only one given these special inner monologues.

Also, it completely contrasts with the "live" of all of it. It's so obviously pre-recorded right now that it ruins the fun. 95% of this forum knows it's staged, but I'm sure every one of us still likes to think it's real.

Hardy is so terrible, the only thing he is good for is selling merch.

I kinda respect, that they want to do something new and creative.

But I personally find it stupid and irritating. Especially when people just talked normal in a "live" scene, and suddenly you hear this freaky addict voice talking poetic without saying anything. If I would still be a mark, I would be like "oh! shit! god is a pretentious imbecile!".

Yeah, I suppose you could describe it as creative, but man, they need to be less creative then... lol. In all seriousness, it reminds me of something you'd say at the end of an episode of the Wonder Years, and the fact that the show is live, but you can hear his thoughts just comes off as something that would be funny if it wasn't so weird.
