Anyway, I thought that was only for the pay per view? I think we'll see the two person commentary next impact, with the usual split say 45 minutes or an hour through for Taz again. They'll work something out.

Because he was a fantastic commentator?
Anyways, I like Tenay. I just want Taz gone, which will obviously never happen. So whatever changes they make don't really make a difference to me.

You're answering a question that wasn't asked, with a question of your own. Fundamental literary logic is completely lost here. Don West was an exaggerative color commentator who couldn't call a match without shouting and yelling over the most minor situations. As a viewer, I was often embarrassed that I watched when he was commentating. To say he was shit is a compliment

Re: So... is the new three man commentary team the way to go?
The new guy is a solid play by play commentator. He knows the move sets and he calls them correctly. He plays off of Taz really well. Tenay has always been a good third guy. He brings the background info and the history of the wrestlers/sport with facts. That's what he does best. Taz is the former performer that gives you the inside information from that viewpoint. Now everyone is back in the roles they work best in which makes for a much much better team.

It was the reason people still go on about him. Because most people liked the way he called matches.
I see the exaggeration as a good thing. He made me buy everything that was going on, and promoted every wrestler on the roster. He was excited to watch TNA Wrestling, and so were the people at home. Basically, he gave TNA a really exciting feel, while Taz just botches all his lines and is only there because he was on color in WWE.

Why have three man when you can bring Don West back?

Re: So... is the new three man commentary team the way to go?
Sorry, late addition to this thread as I only saw the PPV last night.
Yeah, when I heard about the three way commentary I thought it had the potential to sound really messy. But actually it was noticeable how much better it was. The new guy is an excellent play-by-play man and Tenay and Taz worked a lot better just chipping in with additional stuff than they do when it is just the two of them.
While ultimately (in a few years time) I'd like to see the team of the new guy (sorry, can't remember his name) and a good colour commentator like Daniels or Bully Ray, for the short to medium term, this new three man set up worked beautifully IMO. Tenay in particular was much better when all he was doing was recounting wrestler's past achievements, and Taz was nowhere near as irrelevant as he usually is as he didn't seem to feel the need to fill air-time with nonsense.
Hope this becomes a regular team.

To me it felt like Todd Keneley carried Tazz and Tenay.

Re: So... is the new three man commentary team the way to go?
Why not. Especially if it keeps Borash away. We already have to deal with Taz & Tenay. Don't need 3 out of the 4 commentators being trashy.

Exactly. West's commentary is like listening to a strangled cat. Over selling shit from beginning to end. Just programme ruining.
