The worst part is the Joker gimmick, they stole that from an indie wrestler who sent in a tape looking for work, Tommy Dreamer mentioned it in a video he does showing him working with indie talent and doing a q and a, since he was the guy who told the kid to send in a tape. The guy said if he ever sees D'lo Brown (guess that's the agent who handles incoming talent submissions) he's going to kill him. They even did it twice, they totally went for it with Jeff Hardy until the victory road debacle, then it was Sting.

Don't know if you noticed but the joker thing was pretty big back then, I think sting and hardy used it because of this guy named heath ledger and a very unknown movie called "the dark knight". Anyway, the whole concept of attitude era was a rip off of the 90's grunge attitude.

But the guy even admitted he ripped off the Joker also. They both directly ripped off Joker.
The Krimson name? That's debatable.

Everyone's favorite era was ripped from ECW. DX from nWo. WM was created to feud with Starrcade. Storylines are ALWAYS recycled. But who cares.
TNA = Ripped for "ripping off"
WWE = "Well, it's not like anything is original anymore"

The only reason the AJ affair storyline works for rip off mentions is because both involve a character named AJ. At least, that's why I found the comment last week funny.

Yeah, wrestling does tend to copy from pop culture but no more then most skit-based entertainment shows, not to mention satires that poke fun at trends (like South Park).

Edited to add: The only copy that sits poorly with me is the Turning Point poster (that's the one that looks like the SoA copy, right?). It's a terrific poster – one of TNA's best – but it's just too, too similar. As a graphic/multimedia artist, that bugs me a ton.

Solid thread considering some of the claims recently. That's wrestling for ya. Recycled angles do go down. I wouldn't say the WWE has ever taken anything from TNA. And vice versa for TNA. Don't know how anyone can claim that either has unless they've worked for them and hear/saw it go down. They just come up with ideas. If they're similar to what another promotion has done previous, well, shit happens.

I won't harp on the pop culture references simply because that's the biz trying to go mainstream. Plus, the moment I saw Robbie E in 2010 my first thought wasn't Jersey Shore. It was Zack Ryder. Probably because of fist pumping and Jersey Shore doesn't come into my mind, you know, at all. Because it's trash.

Who cares.. Its not like they are complaining, its more like "WWE thinks we dont exist, yet they copy us LOL hypocrites" kind of remarks. Nothing is original in entertainment these days.
