Joey Ryan, missed opportunity?

I really liked Ryan when he went on Gut Check and I thought that he had a lot of potential. But with his feud with Snow, TNA have really exaggerated the character, and now whenever he's on the TV, I really just want to fast forward it! His look is getting weirder every week and now his hair is just ugly and massive, his teeth are yellow and it just feels like the creative team aren't putting enough thought into him, I thought he was gonna feud with Aries, then he punches the only judge that said yes to him!? It just feels very thrown together. I was just re-watching BFG when I realized how much TNA really dropped the ball on this talent.

Thoughts?

Like many of TNA's storylines over the last 6 months things have fallen apart into nonsensical, aimless stories about nothing in particular with no closure.

Probably because half the storylines were dropped for the Aces and Eights stuff and the other half were dropped to shoehorn Hardy into the heavyweight title.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they just stopped dead with the Aces and Eights stuff and dropped the title from Hardy and put things back to exactly how they were before without any explanation at all, I just tune in and its February again. I just don't think its going anywhere. I wouldn't judge them for it, you win some you lose some.

The Aces and Eights stuff started out with real purpose too, we had a year of non-stop quality programming where storylines (well, the vast majority) culminated in a logical end. Now its become so bloated that there is no room for other storylines and the only way they seem to be able to finish every week is with a bleeding brawl. It really needs to come to some conclusion soon, its getting a bit daft. They got full access, Devon was revealed yet it changed nothing!

Nope, it's joey ryan being joey ryan and he's awesome in what he does.
You want a gut check guy to feud with aries? AA is a main eventer, ryan still needs to work his way up the ladder.

"His teeth are yellow" :lol

What exactly Ryan did so well in TNA to deserve a run with one of TNA's top guys?

He's been signed officially for 3 weeks. Give it time. He wasn't gonna feud with Aries anyways. Where would that have come from? Aries is back to being a heel and still in the Heavyweight Championship picture.

I do think the focus on Ryan currently has lacked due to it being more on Matt Morgan. Nonetheless, he's new to the company and he's gonna get an X-Division Championship shot. Can't say that's a missed opportunity for a guy who's still VERY fresh.

It's not a missed opportunity, he's still damn new in TNA.

And if you hate the guy so passionately (yellow teeth FTW!), then he's doing his job. You want to see him get his ass kicked!

Just not seeing the "Movie star good looks" or "Rock star charisma". He was perfect in Gut Check and vs Austin Aries, but he seems too exaggerated now.

It just ruined the feel of him to me.
