He worked a fun match with Kaz on Xplosion a few weeks back
Whenever they allowed him to work seriously, he proves that he can go in the ring and deliver good to great matches. Even in a comedy role though he has shown he is a good in ring worker.
Seemed like logical booking and where they were headed although would prefer to see him vs Magnus this week on Impact. Magnus should push him off the top rope to the outside where he can do the same bump that turned him into a comedy character, have Magnus continue a beatdown (what a concept...putting heat on a heel) until Joe runs out for the save at which point Magnus hightails it.
Magnus wins the TV title at TP, then at BFG in a final showdown between Joe and Magnus, "serious" Eric returns helping Magnus retain then attacks Joe post match and kick starting a feud with him and Joe.
I would really hate to see him go, because Eric has been great for TNA. He's funny, entertaining...and a real good wrestler, too. However, I'm happy for his success with his TV show. Good for him!
It's really a shame but we all have to move on sometime and if he does finally leave TNA I wish him the best. One of the most underrated, talented and versatile acts in the business he had a good run in TNA.
I hope so, he has the look for it. If he does it though I hope they don't just redo his World Elite character as that would be a retread. Something like a mix of his 2004-2006 heel character mixed with his 2011-2012 character would be great.
Before he leaves, they would need 2 knockouts to take that belt away from him and ODB. I will miss Eric Young. He is one of the great entertainers in the company of many years.
If he leaves and it has to do with TNA not offering him a good contract, they are IDIOTS. He has a reality TV show on Animal Planet/Discovery for god sake, RE-SIGN HIM AND GIVE HIM REGULAR TV TIME! If Eric is leaving on his own terms, I'll miss him, but I'm glad I'll still be able to watch him on his show. He's one of the few guys in wrestling I always knew would be able to find success in other aspects of entertainment. Just a witty guy, whenever he's on screen in TNA he's entertaining. The business needs more people like him. And regarding Santino, dude stopped being funny when he turned face nearly 5 years ago. Eric Young was funny as a heel (04-06) and as a face, and even did the serious heel gimmick pretty well.
