My observations from Laredo House Show
First of all let me appologize in advance if I use the wrong lingo, since I am new to the wrestling forum world, but here I go.
I know it was just a house show and what happened during the show isn't necessarily what is planned storyline wise for television. With that said, Saturday's show was quite interesting. For example Bully Ray was a 100% face. He was cheered during his match with Mr. Anderson and even brought a kid with Down Syndrome into the ring after the match for a pose down (Hulk Hogan Style). Mr. Anderson was 100% Heel as he was slinging out ethnic slurs and jokes towards the Mexican-American crowd. Also, a masked Wes Briscoe and unmasked Luke Gallows (not sure what TNA will call him) were a tag team vs Chavo and Hernandez and I think we will probably see them paired on TV in the near future. TNA was shoving Chavo and Hernandez down our throats with the Meet and Greet at Direct Auto prior to the show and again at the arena. I started thinking TNA gave the belts to them short term for this tour of South Texas the last two nights. Also, Daniels competed solo vs AJ Styles and he shined on the mic for a good 5 minutes prior to the match starting. Daniels' character evolved quite a bit from what I've seen on TV. He reminded me of Ric Rude as he was dancing erotically and ranting about how sexy he is. I know he has been doing this on TV but it was much more tonight than what we have seen from him. My wife was really entertained by him, normally she can't stand him. Lastly there was probably between 500-1000 in attendance. By no means am I good at estimating a crowd but I think this is a good estimate. I noticed that every single person that participated in the meet and greet (150-200) bought merchandise. TNA made a killing on Merchandise sales. They likely make more at the merch table than gate sales. With all this said, I went to a WWE event in August and it doesn't come close to a TNA event. TNA really cares about their fans and my son and I had a blast!

Thanks! I also forgot to mention that D'Lo Brown was at the Direct Auto prior to the show and my wife approached him for a pic. After the picture she told him "Hey D'Lo are you in Aces and Eights?, you can tell me, I'm on the list". D'Lo chuckled and said "no". LOL

Re: My observations from Laredo House Show
Daniels current schtick reminds me I'm not watching WWE and people in the back aren't too interested in schoolbus hype.

Re: My observations from Laredo House Show
Thats a shitty turnout. I live in Texas myself and I heard nothing about this show. If only they announced their on the road shows more. Laredo is a town full of wrestling fans. They could have easily filled a 10,000 seat arena. I bet barely anyone knew about the show beforehand. Mexicans love some wrestling.

Sure they'd like to get more fans into the arena but TNA knows how to capitalize on these smaller turnouts. I'll will tell you why. First they announced everyone that buys the Double pack action figure of Hardy and Styles for $20 will get it autographed by them. At least 200 people were in line for this ($4,000). Then they announced Chavo and Hernandez were signing autographs and they made available 8x10's for $10 each (many purchased). Then they had both Hebner's available for autographs ($10 8x10's again). Then at the end of the show, they offered a picture in the ring with Jeff Hardy for $20, and half the crowd got in line for this (another $4,000+). With the smaller more managable crowd they are able to get the crowd in line and take make more money. Can't do this with 2,000+ fans. Plus they sold a ton of replica World Title belts for $250. I'm probably way off, but they had to have made at least $15,000 to $20,000 in merchandise sales alone.

I bought 2 tickets for $62 each (Row 2 from ring) for me and my son. Then 2 tickets for $18 each for my wife and daughter. We sat separately because my son and I attended the meet and greet prior to the show.
