Re: Why is Jeff Hardy so hated?
I know what you mean OP. I've lost like 8 rep points defending the Hardy's. The reason ppl hate him is because ppl are hypocrites. They praise William Regal despite the fact that he is pretty average. He's known for 1 fued with Y2J in 2000 and since then has done nothing. Jeff gets stick for his drug history and suspensions, particularly when he was stoned at TNA ppv. He's not the only one to have done something unprofessional. Scott Hall would turn up to events drunk and unable to stand. Regal would turn up to events high as a kite and had a huge angle in 08 cancelled following a suspension. Oh and remember HBK v Hulk Hogan? HBK wasn't even drugged he was just so pissed off and unprofessional that he broke the 4th wall repeatedly with over the top selling.
Is Jeff a spot monkey? Who the fuck isn't? JC does the 5 moves of doom. Rey Mysterio does his shitty 619 even though it's the most fake move i've ever seen (and i've seen Scotty 2 Hottys the worm). Everyone has their move sets. I can think of a dozen classic Jeff matches and even matches that were not gimmick matches, such as his match against Y2J.
So what if somebody has a vice, sucha s drugs?, if you are a wrestler there is something wrong with you cus your job is a form of masochism. It's a form of self abuse. If you are in that much pain drugs are always going to be tempting.
Jeff deserves respect. He was a HUGE part of the AE and worked so hard for the WWE. PPl say he is a spot monkey well I ask them to jump off a effing ladder every week (no exaggeration). WIlliam Regal gets loads of respect cus he doesn't have a fixed move set. Admittedly that can be refreshing but 5 minuites of every 15-20 minuite matches are him applying some sort of wrist lock or crappy submission move you know wont get the opponent submit AKA a rest hold. There is plenty of that in the indies esp in the UK. McGuiness was a lot better than Regal in that respect cus atleast he could do faster pace mat wrestling.
Oh yeah ppl will say he 'betrayed' the WWE. His contract ran out. He's entitled to do what he wants. He doesn't owe WWE a damn thing. He sold venues and merchandise. He works for TNA now under a less demanding schedule. He is entitled to do what he wants.
