Re: Why didn't Samoa Joe become huge?
He got huge indeed but not in the way you're talking, always been a joe fan and I know he can do better than this.
Expecting a great match with magnus.

Nobody in wrestling can become 'huge' right now, especially outside of WWE. the business is in the toilet at the moment.

IMO Joe is the best in the ring in all of wrestling. He can fight, wrestle, excellent submissionist. Good vocally too.
How CM Punk & John Cena can be the 'biggest in the business' above Joe is ridiculous. All WWE/TNA effects asside.

I'm a huge Joe mark man, but i'd say rating Joe as the absolute best is pushing the truth pretty far out. He's up there, but certainly not the very best.

Re: Why didn't Samoa Joe become huge?
Already been said.. but yea, his issues with tna management and stupid gimmicks. But right now, he is just as good in the ring as when I first saw him, maybe JUST a little slower and bigger (physically) but thats not a big deal.
I am really hoping they give Joe a title reign after BFG. He should be a maineventer in the mix with Storm, Roode, AA, Bully, Jeff and AJ. 2 of these 7 guys should always be in the mainevent and it will always remain fresh, entertaining and exciting.

I haven't quite worded that right. I mean more as an overall 'package'. I can't think of anyone who's as good a rounded competitor as Joe.
He's not the best wrestler, nor fighter. But he's at a consistant higher level in all areas.
I know what I mean :

In Nation of Violence, he seemed legit. It was a great gimmick. Still was able to rep Samoa, without it coming off as stereotypical. Made him a little more unique then the generic monster he was before.

Nation of Violence also featured Joe sporting a skid mark on his face whilst running around with a machete and getting abducted by ninjas. His theme also had some stupid rap added to it that you could never make out but it probably wouldn't matter anyway. Sure he wasn't eating raw fish like the Wild Samoans, but he could've passed for their Americanized convict nephew.
Early Samoa Joe was just your basic indy look but he let his wrestling totally define him.
I just felt that he didn't need any tweaking to that character because it was clearly working.

Re: Why didn't Samoa Joe become huge?
Vince Russo was re-hired in 2006. The end. I've ranted enough on this topic in the past. Perhaps I should find my old list that I made and paste every reason ever as to why TNA failed Samoa Joe.

Re: Why didn't Samoa Joe become huge?
Because TNA kills any appeal a character has
honestly it seems like whenever a character appears on TNA they just lose the "It" factor.
