Daniels Interview - Could he become a good color commentator?
The Daytona Beach News-Journal, including the Aces & 8s storyline. “I know our company has sat down and mapped up where it wants to go months ahead of time,” he states. “The end result will be something months of effort have been put into.”
As the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian have dubbed themselves “The World Tag Team Champions of the World.” He explains the label.
“With the idea of being a team a year ago, we saw a lack of long-term tag teams in TNA. We decided to do a tag team and be a tag team like Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money. Other circumstances have allowed us to be the best tag team in our company right now. I feel we’re the team to beat. I feel we’re the target. We’ve set it up so we’ve made the belts mean something,” he said.
Now 42-years-old and having wrestled since 1993, Daniels doesn’t plan on hanging up the boots anytime soon.
“As long as I don’t prostitute my principals, I see many, many years of wrestling left,” Daniels said of his future in wrestling. “My goal is to get to 20 years. In January, I will be at 20. I’d love to get 25 or 30. I probably will still be in the business after wrestling, maybe in play-by-play or color commentary. We’ll see. I don’t see an end to my in-ring career yet.”
Daniels also addressed company morale, the Claire Lynch storyline, Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy at Bound For Glory, if he plans to remain a tag team wrestler and more.
Interview here
It's a very good interview, worth reading, but i like these idea of Daniels has a color commentator? Will TNA ever have the guts to do it?

Re: Daniels Interview - Could he become a good color commentator?
Christopher Daniels is one of the very best guys onTNA's roster and is so underrated by the company. The guy as a heel could have great feuds with Angle, Hardy, Aries, Storm... the list is endless. He is brilliant in the ring and on the mic. I would want to keep him in the ring as much as possible. It's just so great that he is on tv again and is a champion. He so deserving of it.
When his body can't go any more I would love to hear him on commentary. The guy knows so much and would bring a tonne of charisma and knowledge of holds to the broadcast. Better than Taz that is for sure..

Holy shit at Daniels beeing 42, if he said he was 32 I'd have bought it without questioning. How do you stay this conditioned and athletic at this age?

He's probably better than both Tenay and Taz combined.

Daniels would be one of my first choices as a commentator, even during his own matches, that'd be something to watch.

Re: Daniels Interview - Could he become a good color commentator?
You only have to look at that "TNA Today" from a few weeks ago when Daniels hosted it for almost 15 minutes, single-handed. No script, no film clips. Just Daniels shooting promos at the camera for 15 solid minutes. Not only was he hilarious but in that time he managed to put Tara's heel turn over, explain the Aces and 8s angle and do a couple of other things that Tenay and Taz hadn't managed to do in the previous 12 hours of Impact commentary.
I hope Daniels wrestles forever, but whenever he retires he would be a fantastic colour commentator, without doubt. In fact, in 5 years or so my dream commentary team would be Jeremy Borash (play by play); Bully Ray (thuggish heel colour commentator); Daniels (more intelligent, cocky, colour commentator).
Considering commentary is probably TNA's biggest weakness at the moment, I would love to see this sorted out, and putting Daniels on the mic would be a good place to start.

As long as he gets an appletini at the announce desk, I'm fine with that idea.

Oh my God, yes yes yes.
Like the guy above me said, give him an Appletini and a suit. Let him go.
Daniels could be a legendary heel commentator, he is so good at the quick dialogue and working off the cuff.

It always amazes me that Daniels is 42 years old. The guy is probably the best talent in TNA at the moment IMO. Consistently great in the ring and his charisma is god-like.
As for him being a colour commentator - if he stays in this character he has at the moment it would be fucking awesome.

One of my favorite wrestlers of all-time. Everyone who has met him seems to agree that he's one of the nicest and most personable people outside of the ring. Very intelligent, very cool.
