Great news, it really makes TNA look busche league when they need a WWE mid-carder to come in and put over their company. Lex Luger/Ric Flair are the only real choices to induct Sting.

No, Christian appeared on the same PPV that they announced Sting to be the first inductee.

The whole situation with Christian at the PPV was awkward because he could and couldn't do certain things and he really seemed as if he didn't want to be there. So i'm glad that they are backing out of this Christian appearance. How this end of the deal gets resolved will be interesting to find out. There is always Booker T.
