I wish TNA goes back to tapings permanently
I know that everything I'm going to get for this thread is bitching and badmouthing how stupid I am, but I really hope, that TNA returns to the old tapings schedule pre "Summer Bash". The additional buzz of being live is gone for several weeks (if not months) now and considering how much money this live broadcasts cost, I would absolutely not mind them doing this step back.
A big pro of being live is that the show is much more unpredictable. I get it. The thing is: How many times did you legit mark out for something that happened on these live broadcasts? When I think back the only moment I can remember was Sonjay Dutt returning (for a short run only, as we know now) and that's about it. Three titles changed hands as well, but never had this been a big deal (Joe winning vacant TV Title, AJ & Angle the tag straps and Botchmacher got her KO Championship back from Madison). When Storm won the World Title, I marked out even though I knew this was going to happen because I read the spoilers.
This creative team isn't about excitement in the first place. It books the shows very slowly paced and with less surprises anyway, so there's not a huge point in being live on air. The Impact Zone is all asleep again during the shows for weeks now, no sign of the great IZ crowds of the first weeks of "Summer Bash".
Another point is the roster. Due to cost issues, you only see two dozens of workers max.. It's basically the same guys each and every week and they have as few as possible workers on the show, which makes it very predictable even though the show is live. They always had the majority of the roster in Orlando, when they were taping two or three shows on two days. If you want guys like Kenny King back on the show, the only chance (if there's one) is tapings instead of live broadcasts.
On a sidenote: If there's ever another possibility of seeing IMPACT WRESTLING episodes on the road (not counting: London), it would be permanent tapings, too. They will never go to a real arena for just one live show. They might do it like they did in the past for two taped shows. Just sayin'.
