Default How to change Gut Check?

For me Gut Check segment on Open Fight Night it's a good idea but poorly executed. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something that doesn't appeal to me on the voting process.

I think it's positive that TNA brings new talent, even if they go to OVW on a development contract. But the voting process and the arguments used are just non-sense. For TNA to keep Gut Check as a monthly segment, what should it be done differently to make it more exiting?

Already said this on another topic about Gut Check, the concept is good but they are still perfecting the delivery. BFG series is the perfect example on how to improve a idea based on feedback.

1) The internet poll must be used as a judge.
2) Use a special guest every week (Prichard, guest, public).
3) Video Packages showing each wrestler progress on OVW.
4) Use a few indy veterans.

There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

I think they made a mistake giving deals to Alex Silva, Sam Shaw and Taeler Hendrix. None were especially impressive AND haven't even been on TV since, making it seem redundant.

Should have been a big deal when somebody finally won a spot and moved on to a big push. I think the judges should be more important too, because to the casual viewer Taz and Al Snow are former midcarders; Prichard doesn't register unless you're a smark. I'd use top TNA talent as the judges.

I do think it's a good idea personally, I like some of the matches, even if they often aren't very competitive, I do think they should've had the Joey Ryan vs Al Snow match though already... they are building really long for this thing lol (I guess it's good that they aren't rushing stuff, but they are getting pretty slow). Personally I think this stuff is much better than the twitter interaction bullshit you see on RAW and Smackdown.

To be honest though, without an extra hour in the show, or an extra show itself, there really isn't enough time to showcase these guys after they win. I do think the concept is creative though and it really makes you root for the gut check guy in a way that you might normally not cheer for a wrestler. It definitely needs a little bit of work though.
