Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

TNA has come on leaps and bounds since last year, but even the most hardened TNA mark (Tony316, if you were wondering) can't deny that there were some pretty terrible decisions this year.

The loss of Velvet Sky: While the Matt Morgan situation throws this one up in the air, I still think this was a terrible idea. Velvet sells merchandise, and her photoshoots probably get more hits than the rest of the TNA site put together. Not to mention that she was probably the most over Knockout in TNA.

The Claire Lynch storyline: Bad idea, poorly executed. The actress who played Claire didn't help, either.

Impact Rewind: Way to waste one hour of Spike's time.

Garett Bischoff: We're at Lockdown, and the Lethal Lockdown match will open the show. The fans' anticipation is building as they wait for the first wrestler to appear... and it's Garett Bischoff! And he comes out to the deafening sound of thousands of fucks not being given!

Which do you think were the worst decisions of TNA this year?

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

Having Hardy win the BFG series
Splitting up Magnus and Joe so quickly
Poor execution of the Joey Ryan storyline (could change so far)
Rushing the MCMG return and subsequent Sabin injury and Shelley release
*CONTROVERSIAL* Having Aries win the title mid Storm/Roode feud *CONTROVERSIAL*
Pushing Garrett fucking Bischoff

Wasting people's time with Garrett Bischoff.

The Claire Lynch storyline won in the sense that it was pure unadulterated comedy. I don't know where they found this Golden Globe worthy actress but I was entertained.

Shelley chose not to renew. He never got released.

Also why was putting the title on Aries one of the WORST decisions?

I see it moreso as never getting Storm white hot in the build towards the big Storm-Roode showdown at LD as one of their worst decisions. They failed to truly heat the fued up to a real boiling point. The Storm-Roode exchange from the go home show was gold, but it should have happened much earlier than it did, it was a strong building block to getting Storm white hot.

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

- Garrett Bischoff
- Devon
- Not using Alex Shelley correctly

Claire Lynch storyline was pure gold, if she returns to pro wrestling next year as daniels valet I'm going to mark out.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

1.The Open Fight Night Concept
2.Losing Devon
3.Not Pushing Sarita as the top KO Babyface
4.Garrett Bischoff Push
5.Not Having Storm vs Roode at the Main Event of Slammiversary instead of Sting vs Roode

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

Claire Lynch might be one of the top five worse storylines in the last 10 years. Agreed with that everyone else said (Devon, Garrett, etc)

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

1) The Claire Lynch Storyline = Do I even have to explain that one?

2) Hardy Winning the BFG Series = I was willing to give it a chance, but so far, I am very underwhelmed with what they've done with it. It feels like he is only in this spot because he sells the most merchandise, but they had no character drive or storyline direction to compliment that, so it just feels half assed.

3) Letting Devon leave the Company without dropping the TV Title = Seriously, how does that happen? That is just stupid. Losing talents happens. It is the nature of the business, but how do you let them walk out the door without having them drop the belt they are currently holding? Hell, why is he holding a belt if a new deal hasn't been reached at least a month before expiration?

4) TNA Gut Check = What is the point of bringing all these guys on TV and give them a contract in some cases but then not use them on TV? It seems pointless, especially when other guys are debuting with the company left & right like during the build up for Destination X and Chavo Guerrero. The only good thing to come out of Gut Check has been Joey Ryan. and that is only because he didn't win and it has given his character a direction. Alex Silva and Taeler Hendrix...where are they? There was at least one other winner too, but I don't remember his name and wouldn't know him if you showed him to me.

5) Underutilizing the separate divisions = The X Division had a great new stipulation placed on it with the X Champion getting the opportunity to face the World Champion at Destination X every year. It is just too bad there is nobody in the X Division at the moment. It feels like all they have is Ion and anybody they can find to have wrestle him once in a while. Why haven't Kenny King & Sonjay Dutt been signed? Or have they and do I just think they haven't because they are never used? What about guys like Jigsaw and Scorpion Sky who made a good impression at the DX PPV and were never seen again? Why did they let Alex Shelley go when he is capable of carrying the division and being a figure head of it?

And what about the Tag Team Division? Sure they've managed to scrounge up some singles star pairings that actually clicked at least a little bit like Daniels/Kaz, Joe/Magnus, & AJ/Angle, but where are the real fucking tag teams? It feels like the division is almost empty and Daniels & Kaz are only the champions out of necessity to fill the spot rather than having any kind of division built around them.

And then there is the Knockouts which has basically just been reduced to the champion, her opponent, and occasionally a tag partner for each. There doesn't fee like there is a whole lot of depth in that division either. They let The Beautiful People & Winter go, Mickie James is hardly ever used anymore, and right now there just isn't that much going on with the girls.

6) Garrett Bischoff = Who in their right mind thought anybody would give two shits about Garrett Bischoff?

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

TripleG, gut checkers get developmental deals and go to OVW not the main roster.

Re: Worst TNA Decisions of 2012?

Garrett Bishoff push

Big one for me is putting the X Division title on Ion at Desination X, I like Ion and want the title on him eventually for the Sorrenson return and title win but I felt it was just too early for him and a prolonged feud with either King or Dutt leading then into the Sorrenson feud would have worked better, imagine Ion finally screwing Dutt out of the X division title only for Sorrenson's music to hit and they have a stare down; great way to start the feud

Letting Devon's contract expire and keep the belt on him, he should have dropped it to someone last month especially when negotiations started looking bad, taking the belt off Devon and sending him out of TNA could have done wonders for someone like Magnus, Crimson or Gunner
