The Knockouts Match still sucks and the TBA rest of the card is going to be pretty underwhelming (Except for Joe/Magnus), but I'm looking forward to this PPV anyway. It's an on the road show, so one of the very few occasions where TNA doesn't look bush league.

He'll probably get a match versus Snow, or a backstage segment to continue the build to a match between the two.

Could see the final card being....

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Austin Aries (c) vs. (BFGS Winner) Jeff Hardy

High Stakes - Tag-Team Match:
-If Aces & Eights Win, They Can Come To TNA-
Aces & Eights vs. Matt Morgan & Sting (w/Hulk Hogan)

TNA X-Division Championship Match:
Zema Ion (c) vs. Eric Young (w/ODB)

Falls Count Anywhere Match:
-King Mo is the Special Enforcer-
James Storm vs. Bobby Roode

TNA Knockouts Championship Match:
Ms. Tessmacher (c) vs. Tara

#1 Contendership For TNA World Heavyweight Championship - Fatal Four-Way Match:
Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Bully Ray vs. Abyss

First Blood Match:
Al Snow vs. Joey Ryan

TNA Tag-Team Championship - Triple Threat Match:
Kazarian & Christopher Daniels (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez vs. AJ Syles & Kurt Angle

TNA Television Championship Match:
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Magnus

________________

#1 Contendership for TNA Television Championship - 10-Man Battle Royal (Pre-Show) Match:
-Winner Faces Champion Immediately After Battle Royale On Pay-Per View-
Gunner vs. Kid Kash vs. Robbie E vs. Robbie T vs. Alex Silva vs. Crimson vs. Garrett Bischoff vs. Sam Shaw vs. Doug Williams vs. Magnus

A lot of things so far seem to be sticking out like sore thumbs to me. King Mo as the special referee, Tara Vs. Tessmacher & the Hernandez/Chavo being in the tag match all seem really forced to me. I'm not really digging it. I'm sure Storm/Roode & Aries/Hardy will deliver but I'm not sure if those two match are enough to make me care about this PPV. I've already lost all interest in the Aces & Eights storyline.

Don't disagree (minus King Mo is so fuckin unneccessary) though the build of Hardy vs. Aries is stale (won't effect the match quality for sure).

But the unscheduled rest of the card is not really promising. Everyone was hoping for a big Aces & Eights vs. TNA match - Wargames, Lethal Lockdown, 5 on 5 Elimination or something. And now it's a normal Tag Match? Boring. Joe vs. Magnus is cool, but the build? Meh. Makes it six matches... What else?! I think they dropped Ryan vs. Snow (the build is fucked up anyway and the match won't be great). We'll get a random X Division Match, because Zema Ion takes part in fan interaction. Who's his opponent? The X Division does not take place on Impact.

I'm still mad about the damn Knockouts match. It should have been Gail vs. Mickie vs. Tara. That would be a "TNA's Wrestlemania" worthy match. Not this Botchmacher crap.

Weak card for something that's supposed to be TNA's Wrestlemania. Feels more like an common TNA PPV than anything else.

The ME has gotten jack shit in build.
Another match is a piss break KO match.
The tag match not only has the unneeded addition of Guerrero/Hernandez (and it shows how bad TNA's tag div has gotten), it also further prolongs the dull AJ-KazDan fued.
And finally, King Mo is simply unnecessary for Storm-Roode. Don't be surprised as another screwy finish here.

#31 ·
I can almost agree with you on the World Title build. They should've at least gone for the first strike by now. There's not much conflict involved.
Also agree on the KO match.
Adding CHAVO and Hernandez was a way to add variety towards the match than the same tag match they saw at the most previous PPV. If Styles/Angle/WTTCOTW was a best of 5 series, then it would be ok. And as long as they don't mention the thing with Claire Lynch, I'm happy.
King Mo is being used kayfab wise the same way Shamrock was used at WM 13 and Angle at BFG 06. He's the guy that's gonna wander around the ring til a ref bump then ref the match. If there's a screw job, then be set for Roode/Mo. And no, I wouldn't be surprised.

#22 ·
Looking forward for all 3 main matches: Hardy vs Aries, Roode vs Storm and TNA vs A8's.
If they add joe vs magnus, make it 4.

Compared with last year BFG, I only cared about roode vs angle and the match was very disappointing.
Expecting a solid tag team title match but watching a BFG tag team match without anarquia and vince russo booking it sucks *leave the memories alone.

Aries vs Spanky didn't tickle your fancy ?

I actually think the Aces vs TNA tag match could be potentially surprise a lot of people if the right 3 (or 4) guys are paired together here. Some may call me crazy but I think it could be a lot better than a 8-10 man tag/elimination or LL match.

#25 ·
Here's some fun questions:

Will BFG be the PPV that sees Austin Aries lose his first PPV match since his return to TNA last tear? Will this be the year Daniels and Kazarian finally manage to score their first ever victory at BFG? Will this be the year Samoe Joe's 4-year BFG losing streak comes to an end? Will the X Division Title change hands for the second time in BFG history?

Dudes are all not at Fan Interaction, so the final card is more like

- Hardy vs. Aries
- AJ & Angle vs. WTTCOTW vs. Chavo & Hernandez
- Storm vs. Roode
- Sting & Morgan (w/ Hogan) vs. Aces & Eights
- Joe vs. Magnus
- Ion vs. RVD

That seems to be it for now. Knowing that Ray doesn't participate in Fan Interaction since his gimmick change that makes it maybe Ion vs. some mystery opponent and Ray vs. RVD for whatever reason. Still not better.

My biggest problem with this card is the main event. I am just not feeling it at all with Aries Vs. Hardy. It feels like no thought was put into this beyond "Hey Hardy sells merch, so wham bam put him in the main event!". There is nothing story or character driven about this that I can sink my teeth into and right now, it is pretty much just basic babyface vs. babyface stuff.

And the only real standout match to me is Roode Vs. Storm, which we all thought was going to be the title match and given what we have, they probably should have stuck with Plan A on this one.

The Three Way Tag Team Match? That is a solid enough match. Tara Vs. Tessmacher? Eh. I guess they had nothing else to do with the girls. Joe Vs. Magnus? OK I guess, though it is strange to have three matches on this card with the "Former Partners Turned Enemies" storyline. TNA Vs. Aces & Eights? Could be good depending on who is in it, but I think we were all expecting something a big bigger from that storyline. And with Bischoff clearly being the spokesperson for A&Es on the last show, it makes me worried that we are going to get a lame payoff to this. Granted Bischoff could be a red herring (apparently it was Vince McMahon who voiced the stalker of Undertaker's wife until it was revealed to be DDP), but I lost a little hope after the last couple of Impacts that they have a really good idea in place.

And they clearly have no plan or direction for the X Division as Ion is the champ, but is hardly ever on TV, and there is nobody for him to work with anyway. Since there is no story in place, I would just have a 3 way or 4 way on the TV PreShow (Kash Vs. King Vs. Dutt Vs. Robbie or something) and then have the winner face Ion on the actual card.

So yeah, after getting on that hot streak, TNA doesn't seem to be bringing their best for the big PPV outside of Roode Vs. Storm.

Here was my projected BFG card at around Destination X time.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: STREET FIGHT
Bobby Roode -c- Vs. "Cowboy" James Storm (BFG Series Winner)
- We all thought this was going to happen pretty much going back to Roode defeating Storm at Lockdown.

TEAM TNA VS. THE ACES & EIGHTS: 10 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Sting, Rob Van Dam, Bully Ray, Kenny King, & Garrett Bischoff
Vs. 5 Members of the Aces & Eights (Brisco, Gallows, Knox, Morgan, & Masters)
- Again, I think we were all expecting a bigger match here involving many talents. I like the idea of the TNA team having both faces & heels uniting against a common enemy, but also provide combustible elements within their group that could cause problems. So that's why Bully Ray is in there. As for Garrett, well I put him in there because I thought TNA was going to keep ramming him down our throats throughout the year, and I put Kenny in there just to add a little bit of different flavor to the mix. At some point in the night, Samoa Joe, James Storm, or Bully Ray would be revealed as the Leader of the Aces & Eights. At least that is what I was thinking.

WRESTLING VS. MMA
Kurt Angle Vs. King Mo
- I thought Mo would make his in ring debut at BFG and who better to pair him up with than Kurt Angle? Angle could have carried him and made up for any deficiencies he might have as a newer worker.

X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
Austin Aries -c- Vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles
- I didn't count on Aries winning the title at DX though I loved the idea of giving the X Champion the option of facing the World Champion at that PPV every year (one of the reasons they should focus ALOT more on the X Champ quite honestly). So I was thinking Aries would hold the title all the way through and then be made to face AJ Styles in his greatest challenge. Nobody would have opposed this match taking place. Right?

MONSTER'S BALL MATCH
Samoa Joe Vs. Joseph Park/"The Monster" Abyss
- I was thinking they would continue the split personality bit with Park & Abyss and carry that over into a feud with Samoa Joe, since that feud has surprisingly never taken place in TNA. Get a good big man match out of them where they finally reveal that Park & Abyss are one in the same or something.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Christopher Daniels & Kazarian -c- Vs. Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson
- Honestly, I put no thought into this one because TNA had no tag teams at the time (and still barely do). Hardy & Anderson have SOME history as a tag team, so that is where my mind went there.

KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONSHIP: SIX PACK CHALLENGE
Gail Kim -c- Vs. Miss Tessmacher Vs. Tara Vs. ODB Vs. Madison Rayne Vs. Mickie James
- Again, no thought went into this beyond just having all the current KOs fight for the gold.

TNA GUT CHECK REDEMPTION
Joey Ryan Vs. Al Snow
- This match could still happen I guess. It would be a nice payoff to a storyline they have been building since May.

PRESHOW: TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
Devon -c- Vs. Magnus
- Didn't count on Devon leaving, but there you go. I thought they could just build Magnus up to the belt and let him be the midcard standard for a bit.

Not really, I had high hopes for Austin Aries vs Samoa Joe and AJ/Angle vs Daniels/KAZ.
Both delivered, but what made the ppv special was the overall presentation with a hot crowd. Anderson vs RVD vs Hardy and Ray vs Park surprised me for their quality and Sting vs Roode was "lackluster".

This thursday all the pieces will be in place and we will have at least 80% of the card.~
I'm hoping for:
- puma vs zema ion
- samoa joe vs magnus
- joey ryan vs al snow

#35 · (Edited)
I dont think the card is an actual problem. Its just the lackluster build for it.
The ME is clearly lacking some excitement.
The Aces&Eight Vs. TNA isnt about the match itself. The stipulation is just dumb. Its all about who is the leader.

Think it will be a Good PPV, but not that excited going into it.

#36 ·
Exactly. It doesn't feel like their WrestleMania. They should've done tons better from the start. Aries and Hardy should've already had went for the first strike on each other. Where's the X Division? Most of the problems it has is based on the way time is spent including matches and other certain promos that have nothing to do with the PPV.

#38 ·
Build does lack. Still looking forward to some matches signed. Specifically Hardy/Aries. Idk where people are assuming Joe vs Magnus is a lock. I'd love to see it, but sheesh jumping to conclusions much? We'll see when the next friggin Impact airs.

Al Snow vs Joey Ryan better be made. Oh PLEASE TNA SIGN IT.

I'm not too happy with the booking:

Chavo and Hernandez didn't need adding to the world title match - a best of 3 falls between Styles/Angle and WTTCOTW would have been perfect.

Veteran Chavo would have instead gone after the X division title.

Roode/Storm needs a better stipulation - Texas Death Match.

Magnus needed the win over RVD at the last PPV to have some momentum against Joe.

Then we'd have Bully Ray, Sting, RVD and Mr Anderson vs. Aces & Eights in an all-out arena wide streetfight.
