Default Is being on Spike TV truly one of TNA's biggest problems?

Some people like to believe that being on Spike TV is what prevents TNA from getting to that next level. Is the network truly one of TNA's biggest problems? Will brand awareness and viewership grow tremendously by being on a bigger network? Will a major network want to broadcast Impact Wrestling? And if they do, will they be as supportive of TNA as Spike is?

TNA VS WWE 2010

Impact! was watched by more than 3 million viewers for the opening hour, afterwards towards the end of the show, the viewership declined to 2.2 million viewers

Viewers do not want to give TNA a chance

But even in the mid-90's before Nitro was born it was believed that wrestling was not as popular as it was in the 80's. Nitro and the Monday Night Wars created a whole new boom in professional wrestling when WWF was getting stale, just like most fans feel it is stale now as compared to the late 90's. Not suggesting TNA should start a war or anything, just that the "wrestling is not as popular as it used to be" isn't particularly a great reason for there not being a renewed interest in it again.

In hindsight the WWF/E was always going to slip back into cartoon-ville. WWE will always be camp unless forced to do otherwise. WCW was sports-orientated. It would've been better if WCW had survived.

But the first post nails it. It isn't the channel, its the content of the programme. Those lost viewers were the hideous Impactzone and unknown faces and to a lesser extent booking. Their booking has improved, all they need now is money and consistency.

The WWE has done everything to show that it isn't a wrestling company anymore. Raw is a crappy product. How can they could have big ratings after that ?
Wrestling is popular, bad product isn't.
As for TNA you said it perfectly, they need to be consistent to change their image. It's only a matter of time and patience not network.

Semantics but I agree. McMahon is responsible for fucking up the invasion/purchase and, as a result, 10 years of wrestling.

yeah... after they debuted HULK HOGAN, Eric bischoff, and Jeff Hardy.

Also the first monday night war in a decade, first live impact in a long ass time, Aj styles vs Kurt angle for a mega main event,ect.. Those numbers are actually incredibly low for doing all that.

If they were on a better network, they would have gotten much better ratings that night
