TNA don't have the pay-per-appearance contracts anymore. They provide guaranteed downside contracts with performance bonuses now for their talent.

Re: Reviving the X-Division

The one thing I notice on here is that alot of people suggest bringing back former X-Division guys. The Petey Williams, The Jay Lethals, pushing Sabin etc.........while I have no problem with this it is not likely that they ever reach a level higher than they were before they left (not saying it doesn't happen but saying its not likely). The new peoople for the X-Division should be just that new people. I like the idea from the person earlier who mentioned OVW but 2 of the 4 mentioned on that list (Silva and Shaw) are already TNA contracted they just aren't being used yet so bringing them in would be a start.

Re: Reviving the X-Division

Considering Bischoff is around, I'm willing to bet that if Turner like funding was available TNA would be signing the likes of Kenny Omega, Briscoe Brothers, Prince Devitt, Kevin Steen and MVP to contracts.

He pretty much signed the wrestling industry 1996 - 1998.

I think Shelton Benjamin would be a great addition.

Give me the 20 something Rich Swann over the 37 year old Shelton Benjamin who has not a single ounce of charisma and should be kept away from live mics.

Still waiting for AAA and NOAH talent...

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

I think there is a great theory in there. Especially, for a company like TNA. Wrestling has been around so long that nothing is really original. So instead of signing Shelton Benjamin why not sign the atheltic wrestler from the indy who is lacking charisma. Instead of signing Carlito why not sign the wrestler from puerto rico who is great on the mic but lacking in the ring. Instead of signing the beautiful twins the Bellas why not sign the Blossom Twins. I understand that the talent level may not be exact and that the name recongnition isn't there as well but none of the above mentioned are gonna move the ratings to far one way or another but a new person might just be that breakout star.

Rich Swann is not devoid of charisma. Let's clear that up now.

Re: Reviving the X-Division

Personally, I wish they would reinstate the open door policy for the x-division. That would make the show even more exciting and unpredictable. I think it would be much more effective than gut-check.
