Re: Why Samoa Joe?
I think it's a great choice - exactly who I was hoping for. Joe is a fan favourite, intimidating and great in the ring. Give him a few months squashing people whilst slowly building the Magnus feud for the title. Joe being TV champ will give the belt legitimacy and hopefully a slow burn, intense feud (like they did with Storm and Roode) will make the title seem like it's something worth fighting for whilst putting both Joe and Magnus over. Then a few months down the line (maybe the London tapings?) Magnus can get the belt and it can start to be used to put the younger/midcard guys over. I know a lot of people here hate him, but I think a Magnus/Gunner feud for a newly-invigorated TV title could have some legs..... Both powerful guys, but one is strategic and articulate, the other is an intense nutter. I think it could work and is exactly what the younger guys need.

Re: Why Samoa Joe?
TV Champ should be someone who puts on great tv matches almost each week and Joe is just that. Joe is the perfect choice, he needed that title and deserved it the most.
If you are complaining about Joe winning it, I bet you loved Devon defending that title each week.

Re: Why Samoa Joe?
I think Joe is too good for the TV title. But i'm not against him having it for a while to give the belt some purpose and prestige. If he defends it regularly for 6 months it could become a true midcard title, like what the Intercontinental belt was for WWF in the 80s and 90s. But it will all depends on who his opponents are going to be, if he only defends it against the likes of Robbie E, Crimson or Eric Young i'd rather see the TV belt thrown in a trashcan.

YES! Joe won a belt = smarks heat
Still, he's improving.
I can see him get his old school act back during 2013.

Re: Why Samoa Joe?
Joe's the right pick to restore some prestige to the TV title. Hope he has a long reign and they get back to weekly title defences. At least he's a guy that can / will work each and every week.

Like I said in another thread yesterday I hope they move away from the weekly defenses. It became very monotonous and or redundant as we kept seeing the same guys going up against Devon.
Have it defended bi-monthly. Once on every PPV and once every Championship Thursday. If they want Championship Thursday to feel special and set it apart, then it would allow that show to always feature 2 title matches, the TV title and one other title match monthly. The other title match could be on rotation between the KO's, XD, Tag & World Titles. If you rotate them then each of those titles could be defended 3 times yearly on TV plus on PPV whilst the TV title would be defended 12 times a year on TV and on every PPV.

On to the topic, Samoa Joe can bring some much needed prestige to the TV Title, as long as he puts on good to great matches, and has a lengthy title reign.

Don't surf a TNA forum when Impact is airing / has aired literally EVERYWHERE ELSE except where you are. Wait an hour or two.

What I was going to say. The most important thing for a guy who's going to wrestle every week is that they need to be capable of putting on a good match. Joe is one of TNA's top 5 wrestlers, therefore he's a good choice. There's a lot of other wrestlers who are ahead in the pecking order for a World Title run so I think giving him a run with the TV title is a good choice. As others have said, it's good as it allows TNA to utilise Joe as someone to help elevate younger talent. Put him in feuds with guys like Magnus and Robbie E and we'll get something good out of the title.

Re: Why Samoa Joe?
Only sad thing about Joe winning the TV Belt is that it means he more than likely won't be involved with Ace's and 8's
