Re: Am I the only one disappointed with Austin Aries?
I think the fewer title defenses is actually good, because it'll make title matches that much more special. Build up a contender and have the champion defend against him. I do think though that Aries should have been front and center of the Impact Wresrling product. He's the World Champion, and they should treat him as such. It was like they put him in the back after his World Title win in favour of the Aces and Eights storyline. They changed that a few weeks before No Surrender, but I still feel he should be treated as the most important person in Impact Wrestling. I am not disappointed with Austin Aries as a character though, because he's (thankfully) still the Austin Aries that we, or at least I, know and love.

Give Russo a box of legos, and in an hour he'll make some bizarre creation that only he understands.

Yeah, because Aries' rise to the world title (perfectly executed) never happened. Stop trolling.

Re: Am I the only one disappointed with Austin Aries?
The problem is that his rise has coincided with a number of other things in TNA; Aces and Eights, BFG Series etc
This coupled with TNA only having 2 hours of TV a week has meant that he has not maybe had the impact (no pun intended) that he should have done in his first reign. Give it time though because Aries is just too talented not to be a major star in the company.

Re: Am I the only one disappointed with Austin Aries?
My whole thing wasn't about defending the title. The 1 title defense was an example of a lack of attention to the world champion. It seems like they are more concerned with Aces and 8's story and bumping up the Tag Division (which needs it) rather than show that Austin Aries is a true champion. Hell, even Cena wrestles on the shows every now and then when he is champ. All ive seen Aries do is get into "fights" with A/8 and get knocked the hell out. I actually liked him better before he was champ

Thats an opinion I bet a lot share, but your wording of the thread seems to be directed at Aries himself

Re: Am I the only one disappointed with Austin Aries?
To be fair he didn't defend at the last ppv because of the bfg series. Also he's only been champion since DX.
