Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

Why do people keep bringing up Russo like he wasn't legit let go from the company?

"Yeah Vince, we're gonna let you go, but we want you to come back for this Aces and 8's storyline. That'll teach those internet marks!"

Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

I was thinking how for an invasion angle there is really a lack of former WWE wrestlers who had the starpower and face recognition of 1996 era Razor Ramon and Diesel who could still compete.

The only one that comes close is maybe Carlito....or maybe MVP due to his series of matches with Ric Flair in the WWE.

Anyone think these two will be involved in Aces & 8s?

Bischoff was working and swerving the smarks way before Vince Russo ever became a writer. If Bischoff has any influence in TNA Creative, then this isnt too far fetched.

Don't think either of them will feature unfortuately, Chris Masters could follow the same idea though.

So they fire Vince Russo and expect him to come in and do an angle? Bare in mind, Russo was head of creative in TNA for 6 years and never booked himself in one single angle, so why would he suddenly get the bug to be apart of storylines he isnt in control of? Also, nobody gives a shit about Russo. The casual viewer has no idea who he is. He hasn't been on national TV since 2000. The internet knows who he is, but do those kids and teenagers buying AJ Styles t-shirts and Kurt Angle dog chains know who he is?

Anyway it makes every sense in the world for it to be Jeff Jarrett. Id rather they go with what makes sense than think outside the box and fuck it up. If there is a swerve involved, there could possibly be a tiny chance they could cut a deal with Scott Steiner where he returns for the angle and they drop this lawsuit against him (like WCW did with Rick Rude), but I doubt that even.

Steiner would be perfect for this angle. And it would explain why they went after Brooke Hogan last week, but I imagine we've seen the last of Steiner in a major wrestling promotion in the US.

Russo was in an angle with Jeff Jarett and AJ Styles where AJ won his first World Heavyweight Title, however I don't think it'll have anything to do with Russo (Thank God). Jeff Jarrett is the obvious choice and that's who I'm guessing it'll be. However I'd love it to be someone completely out of the blue that I'd mark out too.

That wasn't during his 2006-12 run as booker, where he really didnt book himself in any angles. That was when they were on weekly PPV. Russo hasn't done any angles since he became a born again christian.

With Russo out, would Cornette be willing to do a co-promotion angle with ROH & TNA? I know Cornette doesnt like Hogan too much but he is cool with Prichard, right?

Imagine if it's Shane McMahon.

That's because God came down and told him to, "Get off my TV!"
