What if it isn't a swerve ? Park showed up 3 months before A&8's did BUT the search for his brother led to him to blaming Bully Ray and Bully has been a major part of the angle. Could have been part of the plan all along.

It's not a turn, joseph park and abyss are two distinct personas. He could even do both periodically.

In the same way Park turns into a monster after seeing blood, the mask may also have some power in his personality.
Last time we saw abyss, he was involved with bully.
If you go back and look at joseph park beginnings he got a roster spot by feuding with ray and the aces&eights. So my theory is that during all that time bully discovered park's secret and has been controlling him mentally using the mask/blood while waiting for the right moment to unleash the monster.
