I think it was well done if they have a plan for it.
1. A&E were completely absent the entire show, lulling everyone into a false sense of security, thus making Tazz's outburst less predictable.
2. No one saw this coming (Because he's not on the active roster it was more of a swerve). People were laughing expecting Tazz to do a silly strip tease, but then they got a decent pop from the fans when they saw the vest.
3. Again, this is all planned. What doesn't make sense now, will [hopefully] make sense down the road.
The problem with the current generation of fans is instant gratification. They want everything yesterday. They would have hated old school wrestling where feuds were built for months/years before being cashed-in.
Again, TNA needs to draw weekly ratings. Big instant gratification reveals (Like Hogan, Flair, Hardy, etc.) all failed for TNA in the past (Barely any noticeable spikes in viewership). They need to build something they can ride. This, so far, has been giving them decent ratings.
