Default Re: Could DDP be the leader of Aces and Eights?

I have thought about that too.
I would mark out.
Didn't he say he would come to TNA, for a 6 month contract, when Hogan & Bischoff were first signed?
I think I remember that.
Bischoff said "no chance".

DDP's yoga program is doing very well and he has Jake Roberts among others in his house. He likes not being a beat up 50 year old so I highly doubt he'll make a return to wrestling.

My initial reaction was, "Nah," as DDPYoga is phenomenally successful. If DDP has links with the TNA guys, it's either because of past working and being friends and/or they use the program. DDP has videos of RVD doing his programme on YouTube and testimonials from Daniels and others on how effective they think it is (as well as from WWE guys like Jericho - DDPYoga is very much DDP's baby and he doesn't seem tied to any company with regards to promotion of it).

Then I thought about it and wondered that a short run on a world-wide show would indeed be killer promotion for him, and thus the programme, so it may not be inconceivable. I suppose the only constraint would be if he is indeed on a Legends contract with the E.

That said, I would mark out. I don't remember DDP from his wrestling run, only from what he's been doing with Jake the Snake and his Yoga programme. I'm a big fan of his from that alone.

He'd get exposure but not the kind he wants. He would want to be a positive babyface. Not a evil asshole mastermind haha.

I haven't seen any members of A&E get 'buried' like many discussions suggest. Getting buried would be like a squash match. Like when Shaemus destoryed Daniel Bryan in 2-minutes on RAW with 100% offense compared to Daniel's 0% offense. Complete and utter squash. Then again at Wrestlemania for the Heavyweight Championship. I've seen nothing like that in these A&E defeats.

Sure they may lose, but who cares if they lose a 'wrestling match' they are anarchists. Losing a regulation and orderly match means nothing to them so long as they accomplish their goals (Taking out Sting and Angle). Unfortunately TNA is getting away from that and started to make A&E care about matches & titles, when they shouldn't.
Here's the thing. They don't "occasionally" get beat down. They ALWAYS get beat down. They almost always lose. Additionally, Samoa Joe recently beat the fuck out of two of them in a cage by himself, and a 50-year-old man put the fear of god into like 8 of them WHO ALL HAD WEAPONS AT THE TIME. They look like bitches. Which isn't surprising, because, Devon.

Also, since when was their goal "taking out Sting and Angle" and how did they accomplish it? Because it seems to me that every time they "take out" either of those guys, they come back like two weeks later and single-handedly run off the whole gang.

We don't know what their goals are. All we know is (a) they have a dart board, (b) they have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BETTER TO DO, and (c) Devon.

These next 6 weeks are key to the Aces and 8's storyline...TNA can salvage a storyline that has been souring by beginning to book them strong going into and on the UK tour and could result in them finally getting some good heat from a lively UK crowd.

When this thing started I was really into it. But it's run it's course and needs refreshing. They're being made to look like total bitches. Just look how Sting dominated Doc in the Genesis match.

I don't think Lockdown will be the end for A&e's. Not at all, this is where things will finally pick up.

They can do Team TNA with Angle, Joe, Sting & Bully vs A&E's (D-Von, Doc, Knox & Bradley) with Garrett and Briscoe finally turning on Angle and TNA. This can also be where Bully turns TNA and reveals himself as VP with Brooke and/or Bischoff as the leader/s.

You're over exaggerating a bit. Sure, Sting won, but DOC wasn't squashed or buried. It's an ebb & flow for the stable. They can't be invincible and win/dominate every single appearance. First, it becomes predictable and boring if A&E were undefeated. Second, it's the mechanism for their unmaskings. How else would they be unmasked if they were incapable of losing?

Losing a match =/= squash or bury. It's just a loss. If 'losing' ended a wrestler's career, only the Joes, Goldbergs, and Rybacks would have successful careers. A loss is hardly the end of the world.

Sure the unmaskings have been tepid at best, but it sure as hell beats "Anonymous UnNamed Wrestlers #1, #2, and #3. Granted, Devon, Knox and Gallows are more "Eights" than "Aces" in the Deadman's hand, but there's still 4-5 unmaskings left to deliver.

Their goals spring from their unmaskings. After a moment of vulnerability (Defeat and/or unmasking) they sideline a wrestlers in exchange. Sting and Young have been out for weeks, and Angle is looking to be out for a long while after last week's attack.
