Yeah, Sting is in the twilight of his career. He can get beat up (like he was by DOC) or lose clean and still be perfectly fine. That's what he SHOULD be there for mostly. Help sell tickets and establish more names. Not lose in dirty fashion, own the heel post match, and move on to eventually have the number on the current heel stable trying to "take over" the company.

TNA needs to throttle back with Sting.

The Aces & Eights started off as a force to be feared and were killing everyone they came across.

Now they lose all the fucking time. What is going on?!

What happened to Mike Knox on Impact was disgusting. He injures Kurt Angle. Great! Heat built. Then right after that, he losses a match to Sting. Well fuck! How can you build heat if you lose all the time?

The group is REALLY on the slide and they need to start getting some heat back if I am going to see them as a threat heading into Lockdown.

As the above poster mentioned, he was being inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was a special night, so they weren't going to make him look too bad on the night. A win is a win regardless and Roode should be happy that he beat Sting twice. It put him over incredibly.

As for victory road, that's just nit picking on your part.

If Sting had won the match, I bet you'd be complaining that he didn't put over Roode. But even though he lost, he didn't lose right apparently. As I said before, a win is a win at the end of the day and it doesn't matter how Roode won, he won anyway and that's the main thing.

Roode cheating to win wasn't the problem. It was having Sting have to demolish him post match to allow him to end the show on a high note that left the sour taste in fans mouths. Sting could have lost - Roode celebrates as he continues to reign on top at their 10 year anniversary. That's pretty perfect. Sting didn't need to look good at all to end the night.

Well that's what happens when the finish is Sting being a moron and slamming his head into a chair from doing a Scorpion Death Drop after he turns around to see the chair to make sure it's in position. Yeah, always a great win for the heel when the face slips on a banana peel.

Well if that was the case we'd be purely talking about Roode's win, not how Sting kicked his ass at the end of the night. Sometimes what you do after a match can overshadow a win and make people remember the aftermath more then the match and result itself, and it did that here.

Yeah. At the expense of the younger World Champ who was cementing his legacy as continuing being the longest champ in company history. But, it was totally Sting's night.

Arguably since it made Sting look like a moron, then the egg was on String's face, and Roode didn't look too bad since he retained the title that night.

It's basic booking 101. The top babyfaces are always going to be protected and made look good at the end of the night. Since Sting was going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, the show had to end on a good note for Sting, he had to look strong. The best you can hope for when a heel goes against a top babyface is that they win, because if you expect them to win in spectacular fashion then it's just not going to happen. What happened after the match doesn't totally overshadow Roode's victory because he retained the title and can still put over the fact that he beat the Icon Sting.

It kind of did because Sting looking triumphant was talked about more then Roode's win until they set up Aries and Option C for Destination X. Of course that leads to the question of why Sting was feuding again with Roode after their feud was supposed to be over at Victory Road and of course why Roode couldn't beat Sting in a No Holds Barred non-title match without Sting making mistakes.

My theory on why Sting lost by making a mistake, was because Roode couldn't win through cheating or dirty tactics like using weapons since it was no DQ, so they came up with Sting making a mistake in order to still make Sting look strong and get Roode over as an opportunistic heel. I don't know, that's my best explanation, since i'm not on the booking team. But Roode was not effected by the how the matches went, and as I said before he can still put over the fact that he beat a legend like Sting, which is not something many people in TNA can brag about. a win over Sting is like a win over John Cena or Undertaker, it doesn't matter how you beat them, but that you can actually say you won, it puts the wrestler over tremendously. I bet Robert Roode appreciates that notion.
