Personally I don't think that he wouldn't be a asset to TNA, but I think making a big deal as Tenay was about him being a former WWE midcarder isn't a good way to introduce some of these guys. For a majority of the WWE careers of guys like Knox and Gallows they were booked like midcard nobodies. When guys are depicted a certain way for a long time, it's difficult for large portion of the audience to view them as any other way. When these reveals were made most fans either thought, "Who?", or, "Oh, it's...that guy." By reminding the fans of these guys low standing in the bigger company will most likely cause the fans to view them in such a way and might make it difficult for the audience to take them seriously.

You clearly have a closed minded way of looking at this whole Aces and Eights storyline. This stable isn't about having big shocking reveals that will send shock waves through the wrestling business. It's about introducing new talent to TNA in a different way than just having them show up randomly and beating down on jobbers for a few months. Did you really expect guys like Goldberg or Jericho to show up under the masks? Come on man. There are very few guys that are free agents out there who would create that type of impact like you are expecting. Pretty much all of the guys who would create that type of reaction are either signed with the WWE or are old, washed up veterans who would only have that type of reaction because of their name value. I'm not saying that this angle is perfect or even that good, I'm just saying that I think you set your expectations a little bit too high and you really have nobody to blame but yourself for that. Me? I knew this angle wasn't going to be that great and shocking when D'lo was revealed to be in it. Now I'm just taking it for what it is.
It the reveal isn't going to be shocking then they shouldn't act like it is, build it as such, or even do the reveal. An unmasking reveal would work well is it's someone like D'Lo, or Devon, or Garrett and Wes because they've already been established on the show as faces and them turning and being the mystery men is shocking. However, having Knox, or Gallows, or Compton (if he's still in the group) being a shocking reveal doesn't work as well and probably should be a reveal at all.

And another thing. I'm getting sick of people who say that former WWE talents shouldn't be signed. All you have to do is look back on the history of wrestling and you will see why that is one of the most ignorant things to say. If the WWE used that same type of thinking that you do back in the monday night wars we would have the WCW still around while the WWE would have folded a long time ago.
The problem with them signing former WWE talent is that the WWE talent usually gets treated better than the homegrown guys because they're "established". The fact is some of us like the homegrown talent more than the former WWE talent that TNA signs and it sucks when the homegrown talent gets depushed or less tv time for these guys. Also, some of these former WWE talent are old and pushing them doesn't make sense if you consider the long term investment.

I completely agree for the most part. I think that the way they are making Tenay sound like The Rock just joined Impact for these guys is ridiculous. I also agree with you about the unmaskings and how they're being done. The only part I don't fully agree with is the part about WWE stars getting all of the TV time. I understand where you're coming from by saying that because TNA has a history of doing that in the past with guys like Christian, Angle, Anderson, RVD, and others, however, in my opinion I feel like they've been doing that a lot less as of late and have been actually using a lot of their own homegrown guys a lot more like Daniels and Kaz for example. They are and will give a lot of TV time to WWE guys in the Ace's and Eights but that's understandable because the angle they're in right now is pretty much the main one going on in TNA at the moment.

Honestly though, TNA pushing WWE guys over their own homegrown guys never really bothered me as long as their good and better than the guys they are taking time away from. To me their all just wrestlers and I don't see them as WWE guys or TNA guys once their free agents. As long as they're used well and have talent I'm all for it if it's worth it.

Very well said I will add on to it from earlier in this topic:

They're no bodies doing exact same things TNA is doing but it's alright because Jon Moxley and Tyler Black are apart of it. It's doesn't matter what company that these guys were apart of before it's matter about their future and who is in charge of them and what TNA does with them that WWE didn't. I remember in 2002 these certain two guys made a group with two "jobbers" and those two "jobbers" become top guys in WWE. You can also look at this example A Train was in WWF and really didn't do anything good and went to Japan and became a big name when he came back he failed. Some people are just not made for WWE, but are made for other companies so these guys can be made for TNA not WWE.
Only reason why I said that is because you want to bash TNA there you go. Facts are facts you're right TNA is using WWE talents but The Shield members are brunch no bodies also. I mean all of the guys in Aces and 8s can have a big future but you hate on them because they were in WWE before? And the two people who are pretty much confirmed for Aces and 8s shouldn't be label as WWE old stars because they didn't do much in WWE. The fact is people get better over time and just aren't made for WWE but more relax company that actually gives them a shot. What do you people want for the people who get released from WWE, do you want them to sit at home jobless and never get another shot? Another question why is Xavier Woods that's in WWE right now why isn't he looked at as just another TNA "jobber"? Let's keep going as another expample Christan Cage, he never got his chance in WWE and still really hasn't got his chance then when he went to TNA he got his chance to shine. So I look at these people in Aces and 8s as people who never got their chance in WWE and can have their break out moment in TNA. You can hate on TNA and this storyline but don't hate or give a chance to these guys they deserve to at least have chance. One last question so if Aj Styles, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Christopher Daniels, or Kaz ever went to WWE would you look past their talents and call them a jobber because they were in TNA? In my opinion I have enjoy Luke in TNA way more than I ever enjoyed him in his time in WWE.

Sorry that I brought up The Shield in my post but just making a bigger case.

I don't think saying "I know that guy" is like if the rock came to TNA, just watch how easily DOC and others got their asses kicked by joe in a 2 vs 1 situation. So I say yes, make them look like the freaking rock and for once... WIN MATCHES.

Erm ... if you actually read what I am saying, I didnt say that at all. Thanks for missing the point. My point is nobody knows who the fuck he is, so unveiling him as a mask man would be a stupid way of debuting him.

Answer me this, what has more chance of getting over: Jay Bradley debuting with several vignettes, interviews and eventually debuting in a feud with a Samoa Joe or someone like that and winning the TV title. Or Sting beating him up with a bat and taking his mask off as he runs away trying to hold his face?

Well what a idiot I am actually expecting something decent. The fact you have to lower your standards for a wrestling angle is so sad its hilarious.

Talk about ignorant. WWE was notorious for changing the names of WCW wrestlers and never mentioning there previous history. WWE was always about creating their own history with wrestlers like Dustin Rhodes and Ron Simmons and Steve Austin and Mick Foley and Marc Mero who all came in under different characters. There is a large difference from pushing a young Steve Austin and Mike Knox.

"Nobody cared who we were, until we put on the masks"

It's an inventive way of introducing new characters.

Now it needs to fix it to where they are introduced with credibility, not taking bumps for a 100 year old man.

Main Event Mafia was the best and only right way TNA used of former WWE/WCW/ECW stars , Hell those guy help TNA get many 1.3 rating but TNA dropped the ball ending that ground without any real storyline..

Now we have Bischoff trying to used former WWE stars again but the problem is most TNA hardcore fans that watch TNA have no idea who this people are , and the WWE fans that watch TNA don't care about of most those guys becuase WWE did a good job destroying most of then credibility before leaving the company..

So you are assuming "most hardcore TNA fans" don't watch WWE ?
