Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread
I believe I may have solved the mystery. Bobby Roode, the leader of the selfish generation and the IT factor of professional wrestling, is the President of The Aces and 8's.
-1st attack was on Sting the Thursday following Slammiversary. Slammiversary ended with Roode getting SDD'd off the stage...and Sting had been a thorn in Roode's side during his title run.
-2nd attack was on Hogan the Thursday following DX. Hogan granted Aries the title shot and made Option C a reality. Hogan also never gave Roode the respect he believed he deserved. Why was Brooke was served the Dead Man's Hand ? No better way to get back at Hogan for costing Roode what was most precious to him than going after what's most precious to Hogan, his family.
-There were attacks on the BFGS participants. Why ? Because Roode believed Aries win was a fluke and he would regain his title with his rematch clause, and the winner of the series would have to face Roode at BFG. Roode had himself attacked to throw everyone off and eliminate him as a suspect in the eyes of the locker room. All the while, he was pointing fingers at Storm and getting the eyes of the locker room to look in Storm's direction (a diversion, which is a game the Aces continuously play to get their job done).
-On the 8/16 Impact Roode blamed Aries. Sting challenged the Aces to fight on OFN, the Aces accepted. On 8/23 at OFN, they Aces created a diversion by sending in the cavalry, then the core group came out to attempt to break Aries arm. They also quit following everyone but Aries. He now became the focal point of the attacks. Why ? Because so long as Aries is champion Roode cannot get another rematch with him. This past week, they again created a diversion so that they could once more attempt to take out Aries.
Now everyone seems to be expecting Roode to cost Storm the series...and he may, but perhaps he does not. Bobby if my theory is correct, is attempting to take out the Champ, but is that to :
a-weaken the Champ going into BFG to increase the odds of him losing
b-take him out of the main event of BFG (and perhaps grab his spot or assure we get a new champion at BFG)
As for D'Lo, he could be in the group. Or he could simply be a stand in for Eric Young. Using a bigger bodied guy certainly throws us off of connecting Eric, and if Eric played that role right now he might be quite recognizable. Roode and Young have a history, and Eric returned in a suit which was the same look as Bobby Roode. Eric has been gone for some time, and ODB (who would make a perfect bikers old lady) has been opening doors for people (is that knowingly or unknowningly ?).
