It makes the company seem more successful I guess. I'd laugh if we somehow skipped ahead to BFG 7 this year.

I have a strong feeling JJ is gonna win it, although right now I'd like to see Foley retaining. Just because I'd like to see what will happen afterwards.

I suppose its the versary bit of it, it might be held close to the foundation date.

It's just a gimmick they're trying to get over with the PPV. I guess they're trying to distance Slammiversary from the rest of the PPV's.

It's nothing like that, WrestleMania is just a name of a PPV and it's had 25 editions. The same thing goes with BFG. It's had 4 editions that's why the 2008 edition was called BFG IV.

Slamiversary is about the anniversary of TNA, obviously I suppose. This is the 7th anniversary. How much sense would it make for them to call it the "5th anniversary of TNA, Slammiversary 5 and we've been in existence for 7 years!" No Slammiversary 7 as in 7th anniversary makes much more sense.

You know what else is dumb? Calling Wrestlemania 25 "The 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania" even though its not (its the 24th)

So in a not good turn of events TNA is offering ticket vouchers to next sunday's show....so if any of you want to go and not pay for it this might be for you. Gerweck.net has a post up on the details.

They cut the house in half for the show and are still expected to eat a LARGE sum of money for this show.

Actually it is 7

When TNA were doing weekly PPV @ the Asylum, they ran the 1st "Anniversary" show in the Summer of 2003 (because TNA started in June 2002), and then another one in the Summer of 2004 (which included the very 1st King of the Moutain match)

So when they moved to the Impact Zone in 2004, during the post-FSN (internet/Real Player) days of TNA in 2005, they started calling the anniversary show "Slammiversary", because they started doing monthly PPVs

2003(1), 2004(2), 2005(3), 2006(4), 2007(5), 2008(6), and 2009(7)

Btw, if anyone wants to watch the 1st ... AND VERY 1st TNA ANNIVERSARY SHOW

http://www.megavideo.com/?v=HNEPCQAD

enjoy, it was a good show... you'll enjoy it ... a lot of good matches and surprises, I cannot believe it's been 7 years since this aired

I'm going to expose my nerdiness, but the 2nd anniversary show was actually headlined by Jeff Jarrett vs. Ron Killings for the NWA World Title.

Nope, it was Jeff Jarrett vs R-Truth (Ron Killings) vs Raven vs AJ Styles vs Chris Harris in the 1st King of the Mountain match for the NWA Heavyweight Title, June 2004... that was the 2nd anniversary show

And what has become the staple to which all King of the Mountain matches would be showcased at, during the anniversary shows (Slammiversary)
