I'm actually thinking about going to this event. I've only started watching TNA recently though and I don't exactly know what a King of the Mountain match is, so I was thinking that asking here would be a good idea. Is it worth checking out live?
Very much so, especially since you could probably easily show up and get in for free as they'll no doubt be papering the crowd just to attempt to fill the place.
It's a reverse ladder match where if you're pinned you go in the penalty box for a set amount of time, and only a man who has achieved a pin/submission is eligible to hang the title up on a suspension above the ring and thus become champ.

King of the Mountain is sort of a reverse ladder match where rather than getting the belt down the wrestlers have to hang the belt on a hook above the ring. However before they are allowed to try and hang the belt they have to have earned the right to try and hang the belt by pinning somebody else. Also when somebody is pinned they have to go into a penalty box for a period of time, cant remember how long it is though.
The rules are a little complicated but the matches often work really well, and so far this year with Jarrett, Joe and AJ u have a decent line up plus its the style of match that could benefit Foley so i think it will be gd. X-division KOTM could easily steal the show though if they're given time
The KOTM match can seem complicated if you're unfamiliar with it, but it really does work most of the time. All of the previous ones have been good-great, and the 2007 contest is one of my favorite TNA matches ever.
Part of the reason it's work so well is that it's a multiman match but it has the uniqueness of the penalty box which allows for a good flow of people in and out of the match at different times.
I know some people are saying the X match will be better than the main event, but I'm not so sure about that. Foley, Jarrett, AJ, Joe, and then either Sting or Angle is a really good lineup. It really should be the type of match where Foley can deliver a good performance as well.
I thought AJ had a chance to win But he hasen't really had any good push/build up lately,I assume EY will cost JJ the match,I don't think Foley will retain and so Angle might have a chance But I think Sting or Joe will win it....Sting can win it and hold it till BFG or Joe can win it and have his"Nation of Violance"while being world champ.

I was thinking that Slammiversary would be the time when he dropped the title. But i cant see them doing it i think he will keep it cause of Eric costing Jeff the match as he was going to win it. Then Foley might drop it at Victory Road.
