Default Machine Guns & Beer Money

The general consensus on the IWC seems to be that..

The Motor City Machine Guns are the best tag team in wrestling and should be pushed as such

and...

Storm & Roode should break up and become singles stars.

Am I the only who feels the opposite?

Now The Guns are a very good team, but am I the only one who prefers them as singles stars? When they got together in 2007, I was actually pissed because that meant both men would be removed from the X Division. I think Chris Sabin is one of the best X Champions ever, right up there with AJ, Joe, Daniels, Low Ki, & Lynn. As for Shelley, while I don't think he's as good in the ring as Sabin, his mic work and character is strong enough to sustain any singles push he's given. I'm actually glad that both guys have advanced far in the Tournament and I hope one of them wins the X Division title because I think they are two of the best singles guys in the X Division quite frankly.

I watched some footage from 2006, and Sabin was really catching on with his feud with Nash & the BFG match with Senshi. As for Shelley, Paparazzi Productions FTW!!! That stuff was awesome!!!

As for Beer Money Inc, I definitely think Storm & Roode are capable of singles pushes. I've been singing their praises for years. But Beer Money has caught on so well in TNA, that I almost don't want them to break up, at least for now. Beer Money is probably my favorite thing in TNA right now. I'm not kidding. They are just a great heel tag team and both guys have really played to their strengths with this tag push. Beer Money is an excellent example of taking what you're given and just running with it.

I don't know, maybe its just me. Any thoughts?

Personally I would like to see The Guns stay together a little longer. Would like to see them have a lengthy reign with the tag titles and a couple of great feuds with, LAX and 3D. Eventually, maybe towards the end of 2009 or 2010, it would be good to break them up, and insert them as singles in the X DIV or battle for the Legends Title, if it every becomes a legit mid card belt. Both guys in the ring are what TNA is all about, and on the mic are both good, with Shelly being slightly better IMO. There young and should be looked at as part of the future of TNA, to replace the likes of Cage, Angle, Booker and other vets.

Beer Money was the suprise of 2008, IMO. At first I wasn't to hyped up on the idea of throwing Roode and Storm back in the tag mix, as I felt they were bot ready for single pushes. But the team payed off, both in the ring and on the mic as by far one of the most entertaing things in TNA. On top of that I think the team added more credibilty to both Roode coming off his big feud with Booker, and Storm after his long parternship with Harris. That being said BM should probally break up towards the middle half of this year, there's really not much more they can do as a team at this point. The run with the belts have been great, but having them loose the titles and start the 2 in a feud would be a great way to start there single pushes. A heel Roode VS a face Storm would be pretty epic tbh, and both of them should be in the World Title picture in the immediate future.

No, sir, you are not.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin can easily become established superstars, provided they were given the opportunity and the proper push. They're the type who only need the push to help elevate them, but they can get over based on their own unique individual personalities.

Chris Sabin, who is arguably one of, if not the best X-Division champion the company has ever seen. I remember discovering TNA in 2003, while seeming one of their pay-per-view commercials they promoted on Direct TV. Chris Sabin was the then X-Division champion, around the time Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, and himself were feuding. Seeing highlights of him, I was instantly amazed by his work.

"The Future" Chris Sabin was the best heel in the X-Division. Currently, the X-Division is lacking that dominant, believable heel. Chris Sabin could easily fill this position.

If it were to be Chris Sabin versus Alex Shelley at Genesis, the beginning of the end of their team reign could progress from here, resulting in Chris Sabin returning to said position. This would be the perfect opportunity for TNA to "rehire" Frankie Kazarian. Who wouldn't mark for a Sabin/Kazarian feud as the rejuvenating process of the X-Division?

As for Alex Shelley, easy. Bump him from his mid-card position to main event status. Alex Shelley, along with Christopher Daniels, could easily become TNA's most decorated main event heels. Unless they wanted to push him as a face and/or tweener, which again, since he's Alex Shelley, it would work also.

It's that easy.

All 4 guys have the potential to be main eventors in a couple years after Booker, Nash, Steiner & of course Sting and Angle have left. Whether there will be enough space in the main event for all of them plus AJ & Joe plus potentially Abyss, Daniels, Morgan, Hernandez and probably others we dont yet know about.

Shelly and Sabin are 2 guys i am massive fans of, particullarly Sabin and i really think that eventually these 2 guys will have a main event fued and it will be awesome

I think the Guns have some of the best tag chemistry I've seen in a long time. I also agree with them being destined for singles stardom. I really think it would be a shame to break them up now, before they have really done anything in the tag scene. Give them the straps for a few months and then split them and let them fued. I think Shelley is money, as you can see by my sig. If given the chance, he'll do big things in singles wrestling.

As for Beer Money, I don't really dig Roode too much. Storm, however, has star written all over him.

In between. I do believe the Guns are the best team in wrestling, but I would put Beer Money at second or third. I don't like Robert Roode that much except for as part of this team.

Instead of releasing Hornswoggle and Festus, WWE releases Mr. Kennedy and Umaga.

Shelley and Sabin are two of my all time favorites; Shelley a little more so. I completely agree with the notion of them both being great singles stars. The reason I love them together so much is that this is the biggest push Shelley's ever gotten. I just feel like TNA doesn't know what to do with Shelley. It's disheartening that some people don't realize just how skilled Shelley is, because TNA hasn't really allowed him to showcase everything he's got. We all know, from the Paparazzi Productions segments, how charismatic he is, but the man is wrestling genius. I wouldn't mind The Guns breaking up as long as it was guaranteed that Alex would get the push he so deserves. Sabin deserves the spotlight as well, but his partner has yet to truly get a substantial amount of time in it.

I would love Shelley and Sabin to be pushed as singles stars but they work so well together as a team. It's a thing of beauty! I would mind but as long as I get to seem them perform I guess.

As for beer Money, I was new onto the TNA scene this year so I had no idea of there past history and hadn't even heard of them until Roode got into the KOTM. From then on in i've loved them, They are the best tag team in the world right now and are doing everything right. Hopefully they can stay a team for another few years. I would eventually like a singles push for them.

Give the guns a run as Tag Champs before they split up at least.. No not the IWGP JUNIOR Tag Champs the TNA Tag Team Champs. Then have Shelley turn on Sabin saying Sabin was sitting back while Shelley was getting all the heat from Foley and etc. Perfect way to turn with a storyline that actually fits the two men. But after they split, I guess we are back to seeing LAX as the number 1 face tag team.. And I don't want to see LAX as champs for a long time to come.

TNA needs to bring in, or create a couple more tag teams. Lethal and Creed is an option, both are members of the Frontline and get along well together, have them team up on iMPACT for a few weeks build some momentum and then team up full time. Its no big loss since they do absolutely jack shit in the Frontline.

Current TNA Tag Division:
Beer Money
Abyss n Morgan
MCMG
LAX
Team 3D
Rock and Rave
MeM (??)

With MCMG splitting, and Rock n Rave, Abyss n Morgan and Team 3D not worthy of a Tag Title reign I think it would be smart to introduce the "Lethal Consequences" Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed.

U c wut I did thar?! (Lethal Consequences?????)

The thing with MCMG is that they aren't exactly "TNA-only" wrestlers. They are regulars on the indy scene as well, and for some reason I think that "The Motor (or Murder) City Machine Guns" are more marketable on the indy scene than Sabin or Shelly as singles stars. In other words, I have a feeling that Sabin & Shelley make more money on the indy scene as a tag team than they did as singles wrestlers. Now this is just my gut feeling, as I have no hard evidence to back that up. But in my opinion, "Motor/Murder City Machine Guns vs. Briscoes" is far more marketable than, for example, Alex Shelley vs. Jimmy Jacobs or Chris Sabin vs. Tyler Black. But I could be wrong there.

Personally, I see no reason to actually break them up. They can each have singles pushes in TNA without ending the tag team. MCMG (along with LAX and Miz/Morrison) are among the best tag teams since the Hardyz v Dudleys v Edge/Christian heyday. I hated when WWE broke up the Dudleys, tho admittedly breaking up Edge and Christian worked out very well for both of those guys. TNA can maintain their tag team relationship while at the same time using them more often as singles wrestlers (much like WWE does with the Hardys). But don't break up any more great tag teams. MCMG, LAX, Miz/Morrison...there just are not nearly enough good tag teams in wrestling. Tag Team Wrestling has been on life-support for too long. More setbacks like breaking up more tag teams could be the death-knell of the division.
