Re: Official iMPACT! Discussion Thread 10/2 - Foley's iMPACT! Zone Debut
I bet in a year from now, Mick Foley will be doing an interview saying that he ran into a bunch of people at an airport who are casual wrestling fans asking him:
"Hey Mick! What happened to you? You were in the WWE and then you left?"
In other words, Mick Foley won't make any significant improvement in the ratings.

I liked LAX/MCMG match, and from what I saw the 6 man tag match (didn't catch the knockouts tag match)

I was originaly expecting Foley's promo to be better than any of the recent Jarrett of Angle promos.

Me too cause we all know how much of a promo god Foley is and can be so I was pretty letdown by this promo. I mean it wasn't bad, but it wasn't really all that great either. So hopefully he gives a great one some other time.

It was a good show.
Too bad the ratings won't reflect it.

Re: Official iMPACT! Discussion Thread 10/2 - Foley's iMPACT! Zone Debut
Oh I knew it wasn't gonna be on the level of the recent Sting or Jarrett promos, Foley's capable but it just wasn't setup that way. Jarrett's whole promo was absolutely epic, the direction of Foley's just wasn't meant to be the same thing.
Don't really understand the 4th show comments, yes they might've mentioned it a little too much but that doesn't mean anything really. ECW always (and I mean always) talked WCW and WWF both positive and negative and I never saw anyone make that type of comment about their product. Hell they even had Foley portray a character that loved WCW and wore WCW shirts to the ring, and most people consider that stuff to be brilliant.
I agree about it in correlation to BFG tho, that should be the number one focus over everything else.

Pretty Good Impact,
With all of the mentions of WWE- Taker(chants), Jericho, HHH, and HBK I want to actually buy No Mercy so I can see them. The problem with this is that they may have have steered other fans to No Mercy and away from Bound For Glory by letting Mick talk about why he loved being an announcer.
By the way Taker's reach and fanbase is deep.

For some reason TNA gets judged rather hard, but the WWE fans have just grown accustomed with a watered down product so they don't judge it at all. I'm not trying to bash WWE here, but it just isn't fair to put this kind of pressure on TNA.
Anyway, I thought that tonight's show was pretty awesome. Jarret pulled out another good promo and the promo with Mick was pretty good as well. There was some real intense parts in that promo like when Kurt said that Jarrett lost his wife. Also, that Monster's Ball match looks like it might be a train wreck, especially without the Guns.

Re: Official iMPACT! Discussion Thread 10/2 - Foley's iMPACT! Zone Debut
Some people will bash TNA no matter what tbey do. That's just the way it is.
But leading into BFG, I think TNA has a great storyline going with the TNA Originals vs. Veterans angle and asa result Sting vs. Joe, Jarrett vs. Angle, & AJ vs. age vs. Booker feel like big matches.
I thought the Foley promo came off well. One knock I have on the show as a whole is that I wish they had made a bigt deal of the Sting/Joe segment. They didn't hype it or anything. It just appeared on the show. But next week is the contract signing so that will be good.
