Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
No Mercy was a 2-Match show. However, those 2-matches were really good. Top to bottom though, it was an average show.
Bound For Glory should be better, but looking at the card it might fall in last place of quality to the rest.

Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
I think you hit the nail on the head JasonLives, there isn't that much hype going into Bound For Glory. At least not "biggest PPV of the year" hype from what I can tell. The storyline with TNA vs. veterans is great and all, they have me watching Impact every week but the PPV still isn't selling me.

Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
I wouldn't quite call No Mercy a 2 match card, both Taker/Show and Rey/Kane were around *** as well. That said, BFG will undoubtedly be the better all around show IMO. But it should be without questions, this is their WM in comparison to NM just being another PPV for the E.
I'm really hoping they let Joe and Sting have a epic world title match, 25+ minutes with absolutely no interference and I'll be totally happy.

The only thing im worried about is some bullshit in the two MEs. TNA has as of late had a habit of lame finishes to their PPVs. This PPV CANT have another one.
Of course BFG will be better then No Mercy. Really, one of WWEs "lets get this over with" PPVs Vs. TNAs Wrestlemania. But the real question is, will the two ME for BFG be able to top the two ME for No Mercy. Now that is a challenge since imo both No Mercy ME were 4 stars and a little more matches.
But here is the thing, BFG is only 6 days away?? And the thing has no hype at all. I say it again, next year TNA has to have more then 4 weeks of build to BFG. Make it 6 weeks!
|
I can agree there; Impacts don't have that suspenseful feel it should have going into BFG. Actually, I thought the Impacts before Slammiversary had bigger build/better Impacts than the ones now. If it went to 6 weeks, it might just drag on, but I guess people would still be anxious for BFG nonetheless..

Perhaps TNA should stop talking about WWE and start focusing on Bound For Glory, their so-called biggest show of the year.

I totally agree with you man, TNA should be trying to hype up their biggest event of the year instead of mentioning Vince McMahon and WWE constantly on their show. I think there was a least a dozen mentions of Vince McMahon and the WWE on the last iMPACT.
That being said the event has some potential with the two main events looking very interesting and I am also looking forward to the Monsters Ball match. But Steve "Mongo" McMichael as referee seems very random and really useless to the match.

Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
Well this past show was pretty much an abirition (sp), they hadn't really been mentioning the E very much but with Angle's comments and Foley coming in it was pretty much inevitable.
AJ was on the MNM show tonight talking about BFG and he gave a pretty good interview. He talked about the PPV, about the 2nd TNA game already being worked on, and a few other things.
He also said that over these last couple of months of 08 that something truly great was gonna happen in TNA but he couldn't say very much about it, he seemed pretty confident about it as well. Should be interesting.

TNA will have an entire PPV with clean finishes and no interference?

Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
^I seriously doubt that's what he meant, but I don't think I've ever seen a major wrestling PPV that didn't have some kind of interference or atleast one dirty finish.
Maybe the Lockdown shows did, just because their all cage matches but that's all I could come up with right away.

With Foley making his debut it's not a big shock that they mentioned Vince. I don't see the problem with this. The skit was about Foley giving his reasons for coming to TNA. Not only did he drop some big names like Undertaker but he also defended Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. People need to get over it. Just cause the WWE won't acknowledge wrestling exists outside their little universe doesn't mean everyone else should follow suit. If TNA mentioned WWE every week than I would be concerned but that's not the case.
