Damn I've heard so many great things about this show, I think I'll enjoy Sting vs Joe more than everyone else. Will quickly watch the go-home tonight and watch this epic event tomorrow.
Watched it last night and loved the show but I decided to give it a 2nd view to give some more definitive ratings so here we go with TNA's biggest ppv of the year.
Bound for glory IV (2008)
1.) Steel Asylum - ***3/4
Wrestling purists start having a panic attack, spot after spot of pure awesome fun. Perfect for these types of matches. Loved it.
2.) Bimbo Brawl - 1/2*
Horribly boring match. Never should have made the ppv but at least they kept it short.
3.) X title - Bashir vs Creed - **1/2
Solid but I expected a bit better. Still not bad but not what you'd think from a x division championship match.
4.) KO title - Wilde vs Kong vs Roxxi - **
Decent but too short. The KO's haven't been as great lately. Hopefully they can pick it up to where the division was a few months ago.
5.) Monsters Ball - ***3/4
Pure chaos and madness as it is with every MB, great action throughout. The flaming table spot was fucking insane! Mongo was the only downside but I can look past his horrendous addition because of the awesomeness of the rest of it.
6.) Aj vs Booker vs Cage - ***1/2
Really loved this match. The wrestling action was very crisp and nonstop. Everyone did their part, but Aj was undoubtingly the star.
7.) Grudge match - Angle vs Jarrett - ****1/4
Incredible outing by both men. Jarrett looked great in his comeback. Really nice back and forth wrestling showcase. Even the predictable interference didn't hurt it, I actually loved the way it played out. Fuck the haters. Angle is still the man!
8.) Tna Title - Sting vs Joe - ***1/2
I was really enjoying the match with Joe completely dominating and sticking it to the fans. The sequence where they both did their finishing moves and no sold them was fantastic. Then the last few minutes kinda ruined it for me, I was tempted to give this around a **** until then. Not that the interference didn't make sense but it was just executed so poorly. The ref bump looked fake as hell and Nash barely made contact with the bat. Either way though, it was a good main event. Lots of folks were shitting on Joe's reign anyway so they got their wish. Hopefully Sting gets a long run this time around.
Overall:
An amazing show, one of TNA best of the year easily. Close with Victory road but this probably surpasses it. The last 4 matches were outstanding. Can't wait to see where this storyline goes from here.

Re: Bound For Glory Discussion Thread
I really hate Bashir with the title. Even though he has great promos and is a great heel. He shouldnt be main eventing a big PPV like BFG. Im looking forward to Lethal taking back the title.
Steel Asylym- ***1/4 (Good spot fest, but nothing more. I liked Lethal winning, and him vs. Shiek next month should be good.)
Cute Kip/Beautiful People Vs. Rhino/ODB * Rhaka Khan- * (Bad Six PErson Match. At least Rhino got a victory.)
Bashir/Creed- ***- (Good match.)
Taylor Wilde Vs. Awesome Kong Vs. Roxxi- *1/2 (To short to be anything special.)
Monster's Ball- ****1/4 (Excellent Match. I called the finish, with Beer Money stealing the victory. Steve McMichael was terrible as the referee, but still a sick match.)
Cage/Booker/Styles- ***1/2 (I like Booker getting the victory.)
Jarrett/Angle- ***1/2 (Another good match.)
Joe/Sting- ***1/2- (Third straight match with a ***1/2 rating. Love Sting winning, as it ended Joe's terrible reign. That spot with Joe jumping over the balcony was great. Joe was booked great here, and that is how he should of been booked the past six months.)
Overall, this was a very good pay per view, but had nothing on Wrestlemania 24 (Sorry folks, it wasn't even close.) This pay per view showed how good TNA can actually be when it is booked good.
Steel Asylum ***1/2
Bimbo Brawl *1/4
Creed vs. Sheik ***
Wilde vs. Roxxi vs. Kong **1/2
Monster's Ball ****1/4
Booker vs. Styles vs. Cage ***3/4
Angle vs. Jarrett ****
Sting vs. Joe ***1/2
you're right about not beating out Wrestlemania but still 2nd best mainstream PPV of the year
Styles, great review as usual. Same exact ratings as me, cept I went **** for Joe/Sting despite the much talked about finish. Joe owned my soul with that performance, I'd like to see him pull a Daniels circa late 05 on Nash now.
Here are some ratings, just finished watching it on PPV.
Steel Asylum - **3/4
3 on 3 Bimbo Tag - 3/4*
Creed vs Bashir - **3/4 (WTF CREED DIDNT WIN! BS!)
KnockOut Title Match - **
Monsters Ball - ****
AJ vs Chrisitan Cage vs Booker T - ***3/4
Jarret vs Angle - ****1/4
Joe vs Sting - ****3/4
Loves it.
Just laughable. Anyone with Joe/Sting that high is incredibly deluded beyond help.
Steel Asylum - **1/2
Velvet, Angelina & kip vs ODB, Khan & Rhino - *1/2
Creed vs Bashir - **
KnockOut Title Match - *1/2
Monsters Ball - ***1/2
AJ vs Chrisitan Cage vs Booker T - ***1/4
Jarret vs Angle - ****
Joe vs Sting - ***1/4
Steel Asylum match is hooriible. A spotfets with no memorable spots? I could write forever on what was wrong with that and everyone in it. Why the fuck was Petey dressed as Steiner and WTF with Prince Justice Brotherhood? Not to mention the gimmick was horrible and they clearly dont want MCMG around which pisses me off.
The best part of the first hour and a half was Foley's backstage segments. Take from that what you want.
West and Tenay are the worst announce team ever. Even worse than Michael Cole.
Whoever the fuck that Mondo guy was in Monsters Ball deserves shooting. Match was ok but Abbyss nearly burning himself to death isnt interesting anymore. The guy nearly dies for this shithole on a regular basis and for what exatly?
Jarret/Angle was the only good part of the show.
Joe/Sting was disgusting. They start off going all through the fans for one incredibly dangerous, yet pointless spot. That wasted half the match time. Bare in mind this is TNA's WrestleMania main event it's a joke. A great main event of Raw or SD and nothing more. Ending sucked too. Been there, done that.
Baring in mind this is TNA's WrestleMania it was a joke.
