Re: Official Sacrifice Discussion Thread
I don't know, what some of you guys saw, or in which moode you were. But Sacrifice was really well executed. The only thing, that really bugged me was the Hair-stipulation of the Knockout match. I allways hated the idea. Non of the girls had something to benefit. - And in the end, the last 3 girls were my 2 favourites plus Gail Kim, who was immune. That totally, totally sucked...
Even though I absolutely HATED the whole angle, I must admit something... TNA succeeded in getting me emotionally involved. I won't forget that match any time soon. - The fans on the other hand presented themselves as idiots, chanting against "all-time-enemy" Vince Russo instead of chearing FOR Roxxi, who put up a great match and really needed their support. Therefore I hated the fans as much as the whole stipulation.
The second bad thing was (again) the production. You saw during some of the past PPVs how important it is, that TNAW leaves their "Zone" and televise their shows with a much higher standard. I think, this is the main reason, why many might find the PPV bad. - Anyway, it clearly was not.
The tag team tournament was booked well. I anticipated a couple of things that didn't happen. On the other I was totally (positively) surprised, that they turned Booker T, what might even saved the early stages of the PPV, if not Sacrifice at all.
They chose a good way to eliminate all "Egotisticals" and brought the only 2 established teams into the finals, finalizing it with the right champions. I was a little disappointed by how bad James Storm (again) was presented. But the match itself was good. And if they do it right, Storm can benefit a great deal from his programm with Sting. But only when he can take a final victory against The Stinger.
There also were a couple of screw ups this sunday (the coolest one: Tracis self-elimination ... from no on my absolute favourite of all mistakes =) ), but the in ring quality leveled it.
The Terror Dome is a really cool new match. They shouldn't have put all the X Division at once into the match, but maybe 4-6 competitors. This way no one besides Kaz benefited and it lacked in psychology. - But all politics and terrible pushes for the best guys beside, it was strong.
