Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
As far as overall cards go, I would say 06 > 08 > 05 > 07 for Lockdown. 06 is one my favorite TNA shows ever and is so well rounded, there's like 5 matches ***1/2+.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
This was the first TNA PPV I was disappointed in, not because it was bad, but just because I had such high expectations. Probably still worth the money and I'm sure I'll enjoy it more once I can forget the high expectations. I think all the matches suffered from rushed endings, except perhaps the Knockout Tag.
X-scape - I was waiting for the inevitable Dutt turn yet was pleasantly surprised that they went the opposite way. Glad to see Lethal win as well and the ending, though unspectacular, was fairly unique.
QotC - What was the point of climbing in? Roxxie and Angelina did fine but we just saw almost the same match for free on Impact.
Kip and BG - This match was bad and made worse by the fact that the hype had been so good. They sure didn't look like two guys who had been waiting to tear one another apart.
Cuffed - I enjoy TNA comedy more than most, but I don't want the serious tag teams taking a back seat to Eric Young.
Knockouts - Very good match, as always with Kong. Good use of the cage, good flow, logical ending.
Roode/Booker - A very good singles match bizarrely finished by the women. And they've already gotten Roode heat for poor treatment of women. How many more women are they going to have him berate and hit. I felt sorry for Brooks, don't really care what happens to Banks.
LL - I enjoyed the lead in with the addition of Morgan and Storm but I think 5 v 5 was just too much. The ladder spot didn't really make much sense though it was fun to watch. I thought Team Tomko should have won, but certainly don't give the pin to Rhino on the first try.
Main Event - Liked it even more the second time I watched it. There's actually very little MMA stuff, it's more old school wrestling, which I tend to enjoy, than MMA. Thought the ending needed a little more build, though, to make Joe's victory seem well-earned.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I currently just watched the Main Event of Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle. And I have to say it was one of their better meetings, not as good as their second bout but close enough. I like the MMA influence of the match. It brought a more real look towards the match, with some flavor of a wrestling match. I loved how they used the strikes, submission holds and throws to make the match seem more legit. Also have to comment on Frank Triggs commentating, for a man that had little to no experience calling a wrestling match, he did fairly well. really well how he included little information on the maneuvers that both Joe and Angle were applying on one another. He did fairly well compared to a different announcer on Tuesday nights. Overall it was a good match, and if TNA leans towards more matches like this one, they know they got a fan right here.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
For the main event, I thought it was stupid how they copied the mma style ground defense by laying down with your feet to block. This is wrestling, just kick 'em in the @$$
I thought there first three matches were better. The triliogy was great, with the second one being my favorite.
There were alot of people in the crowd though. It looked really good.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
lockdown for me was enjoyable enough.
decent opener,though slightly disappointing.
womens matches were ok'ish, slightly better than i expected.
kip vs bg was pretty bad and lacked the raw emotion of the build up,neither looked particularly interested.
cuffed in a cage was just a scrappy, misjointed affair and a severe waste of tag team talent, lance hoyt's chokeslam on kaz from the top rope was fun though.
roode vs booker was yet another pointless match which brought nothing new from their previous matches,it was ok,nothing special, just like anything involving booker t.
lethal lockdown was a good match but like someone said earlier there wasnt really any need for ten men,it had some good moments but it also had dull ones, the finish was quite bizarre, really didnt enjoy that.
angle vs joe wasnt nearly as ridiculous as i thought it would be,they both managed their false mma styles well,it was pretty ok.
definetly not the best TNA ppv but it was watchable and had some good moments.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
lockdown was 1 of the best ppv in the 6 years of tna the bg and kip james match was funny with kip james the LL was awesome see styles and if it was not enogh to top that angle and joe 5 over all great tna ppv like always 1 last thing i thought that the monster Abyss was gonna come out at the lockdown match and do somthing and thought nash would screw joe after seeing impact with nash it kind of hinted it so nash to screw joe next impact when joe vs angle i think.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I watched Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe this morning and I enjoyed it very much. I love the fact they both wanted to tell a different story from their other matches and any other pro wrestling match in North America. I'm a big fan of the mat wrestling, submission counters and stiff blows Angle & Joe executed throughout the match. Very good contest and even though I wanted Angle to win, I guess Joe finally got his due.
