Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I thought this was one of the best PPVs I have seen in a great while. I was very into all of the matches, yes even BG VS Kip. I dont really get whats so bad about BG and Kip's matches, they have always been very good I thought.
I loved the main event, I have a couple of comments that dont concern the actual matches.
-Did anyone notice one of the security guards who escorted Karen Angle from the arena looked exactly like Don West? I actually thought it was him lol, but he was commentating so it wasn't him.
-I loved it when Karen clearly said "Dont Fucking Touch Me" I hope it makes it to the DVD.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I don't think Cuffed in the Cage really made anybody look weak since all you are doing is getting handcuffed to the cage. It's not like anybody was pinned in 30 seconds after weak moves or anything.
However, I do feel like Steiner should have walked out victorious since he is getting the shot at Sacrifice.
I hope they don't turn the main event to Sacrifice into a Triple Threat with Angle involved. Joe vs. Steiner II will be kind of a treat. I loved their first match as I thought it was just a good old fashioned fight with real intensity. Hopefully a title match can capture that same feel.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
Best TNA PPV in over a year IMO. There was still some cringe-worthy stuff though.
8/10.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I was quite dissapointed by lockdown. The lethal lockdown was too short and apart from that one spot nothing really happened. I hated the mma style match Joe & Angle had it was really boring and i found it hard to get into the match, glad Joes champ though. X-scape match was a good opener. Overall nothing really stood out for me even though i was really looking forward to the event

Lethal Lockdown lasted 28 minutes. It felt like it didn't last that long because there were almost no nearfalls.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I'm pretty dissapointed with the main event. I think Angle's obsession with being an MMA fighter really took it's toll on the match. It was as if Angle treated the match as a UFC fight, whereas Joe treated it like what it was (a wreslting match). It seemed to me like they (or Kurt, I should say) tried to make it half MMA and half TNA. Didn't work. They brought in Frank Trigg to commentate...why? This is what I don't get. For weeks they hyped Kurt's training and all that. Again...why? Was it supposed to be a MMA fight or a wreslting match? Both men treated it differently. I really think it should have been one or the other for common sense's sake. I can respect that they tried to do something different for their 5th match, but to me it just didn't work. Angle basically beat on Joe for about 20 mins before Joe hit a few moves and then the Muscle Buster for the pin. Usually they have really good matches, but this one was a huge letdown to me.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
Just finished watching the Joe/Angle match for the second time, and it was even better the second time. The boring chant you hear is clearly one guy screaming at the top of his lungs. There was a realism to the match. It really delivered on the intensity, story-telling, and pace.

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I can't believe Lockdown is getting mixed reviews, IMO this is what professional wrestling is all about. Yes - Joe winning was a bit predictable, but it was still a good story and a great wrestling contest. The lethal lockdown match was SICK, and the others were solid too. We had intensity, desire, some serious ass-kicking and good wrestling. I for one can want nothing else.
5/5 stars

Re: Lockdown Discussion Thread
I've still yet to watch a video of the event, but it rocked live. The crowd was red hot the entire time. The matches were entertaining. There were some crazy spots and most importantly, Roxxi won!
I also thoroughly enjoyed the main event. Having been there in person and fairly close to the cage I can tell you that those kicks from Joe were stiff as hell.
Lethal Lockdown was MOTN though. That was just sick. It's crazy that a 28 min match went by that quickly but it's because there was never a dull moment.
