Post anything related to TNA DVDs here. Questions, match ratings, suggestions, news, ect... are all welcomed.

Couple of questions to start things off (since the other threads were closed)

BGLWrestlingGod: Should I get Turning Point 05?

Jack Evans 197: Should I get Destination X 07?

liljayl23: Best TNA PPVs to buy on DVD?

I drifted in and out in '09. That's when my love affair for the company started to fade. Been wanting to play massive catch up with the year over the last 9 months or so. I'll get around to it one day. Perhaps I'll feel the same about the Sonjay matches then.

DX 2012 wasn't a great show, but it wasn't poor either. I think that's where the praise came from. The ability to say it wasn't bad and enjoy the afterglow of a main event which elicited a tremendous response. Sucked some fans in with it.

Yep, think you got it spot on there. 'OMG Aries is the World Champ! That ppv was amazing! It didn't end on a screwjob finish!' :p

If you ever do get around to '09, get the HDNet sets. Vol. 1-3 get a (Y) from me. There really aren't too many storylines or great shows to get into throughout the year.

Certain it's the common mindset. Hell, it almost was from me too. When the PPV ended I felt satisfied. It may have only been by one specific result and about two matches as a whole, but I wasn't let down. Guess that's what matters with certain expectations.

That's what I heard about 2009. Doesn't surprise me either considering how once Generico & Steen lost the tag championship and Lynn got the World Championship over Black I was nearing the end with caring. The 60 minute jip at Final Battle was damn near the final straw. (if you want we can chat more about this in the Indie thread...I did just finish SCOH VII so I'm about as jazzed up on ROH as possible right now, haha.)

He's dealing with the bs shenanigans of being in "the biz" daily.

Impact tonight should be a fun time. If Chavo doesn't decide to suck & the Full Metal Mayhem goes balls out. I'm digging so much from TNA lately except for ONE aspect: their roster isn't large, but it is plenty deep enough for the company to give us some god damn variety. TNA keeps way too many workers seperate via their "divisions" & I hate it. We can't have a showcase match for one of the Aces guys against someone on the TNA roster? D.O.C. vs Sonjay Dutt, you know, something outside of the box. idk. Once you see the specific division for that night you know it is not going to show up for the rest of the program. It peeves me. I want the booking to be a tad less unpredictable in that aspect.

Would that be Stings 3rd slammiversary main event in a row? :argh:

I'd much rather see Storm (shut up Cody :side:) or Joe in a feud with Ray. Honestly when some of those Aces & Eights explanation segments aired I legit thought they'd build Storm up since he was made to look like a GEEK in them. He'll probably be in some AJ match though. Joe is just floating about the main event scene and is generally involved with the Aces & Eights so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to push him up. Probably working some tag w/ Magnus though.

Angle is a possibility tbhayley, and I don't hate it. Bully could limit him, he's a bit similar to Joe and I liked Joe/Angle from last years destination X.

Really hoping Chavo/Hernandez lose and it leads to dirty heels/bad influence. Imagine if those four got the 2/3 falls stip :mark:

No Storm. I like his jobber role right now.

JOE. Ha, pipe dream. Which is absurd to know is reality considering he is still massively over with TNA fans all over the damn country. And in England too. He was said to be the most over guy that wasn't a fellow Countryman. Yet he still receives next to nothing by the company. I call BS. Joe vs Bully for the World Championship would be fabulous.

I wouldn't mind Angle. I say this enjoying Kurt as a character. Match could always break down and be bad, but it's a gamble I'll take over Storm or Morgan, personally.

Chavo vs Hernandez is what I see being the result of the 2/3 falls tonight. That's absolutely horrific, but hey, it gets them away from the tag team picture.

Matt Morgan taking a jab at Sting a few weeks ago makes me think that match could happen too with Morgan going over. Oh, that will be the worst. It sucked in 2009 & it will suck again in 2013. Sting deserves better.

Unsure if I told you too, Shep, but I watched Bound For Glory 2012 one more time and I ended up liking a few matches more this time around. Including the Aces & Eights tag, which was pretty fun. Suppose I was letdown on a first few watching b/c I expected it to be wild for some reason. Roode vs Storm went down sooooooo much though. :lmao

Roode was a boss in it for taking nearly 99% of all the bumps in it. Storm was crap. Really makes me realize why I don't like him on certain occasions. Their singles match on Impact following Turning Point was much, much better than the Street Fight.

eh, Morgan/Sting wouldn't be great but I wouldn't hate it. Keeps both out of the title picture and they obviously have plans for Morgan, as much as we want to deny it.

I forget the impact match, I prefer Lockdown to BFG though. I remember you being a right downer after BFG :)p), off the top of my head RVD/Ion is surprisingly good, Joe/Magnus is good, Storm/Roode is also good, Ryan/Snow is there, tag is BAD, the aces tag is alright i dont remember it being anything special. Aries/Hardy OWNS though. I really dug their chemistry watching their matches back to back to back

You know me though. No Morgan match is the only good Morgan match.

I was soured on it on a first watch pardon the main event. Most of my thoughts did remain though: Tag was shite. Knockouts was bad but at least Tara won. Joe vs Magnus was solid, only it should have been MUCH better. Ion vs RVD was decent. Main event is the tops. Always has and always will be, imo.

Now I have a stronger opinion of Joey vs Snow, which is lots of fun. Aces tag is fun in its own right too, although nothing special like stated. And Street Fight can do to hell pardon Roode being the man.

SACRIFICE is my favourite show of the year. Depending on your tastes I could see a case being made for BFG though, I'd place DX & Slammiversary over it too. Maybe turning point but im only remembering two matches from the card of it

Joe/Magnus was MUCH better, just a month later but I'll take it still. The two have a tremendous chemistry and I'm hoping for more from Magnus this year. Either tag titles again or TV title. Happy w/ either. Ion/RVD is just a really fun opener to me, Zema THRIVES in the big situations, same with the lockdown match (fuck York)

oh I should mention I dug TJP in the XScape match. Just about the only guy I did in it. Very crisp. But I'd sooner bring in Rubix if I had to pick. TNA certainly seem to have the talent at hand judging by the turnout. Now if only they use it.

I preferred Sacrifice 2012 over BFG. BFG was around the third best show of the year though. If not fourth having a competition with Destination X.

Zema was good vs Van Dan, no doubt.

Puma is always quality with the mask. I wasn't surprised to see him looking crisp as ever. Jimmy Rave made the match for me. If only he had a shot to win which would have garnered a massive mark out reaction from myself.

huh

im trying to rank 2012 ppvs and i just realised I never saw Final Resolution beyond Aries/Bully

worth it?

Sacrifice
Slammiversary
DX
BFG
HJ
TP
AAO
Lockdown
VR
Genesis

btw. Never saw No Surrender either but there's been nothing to suggest it's worth my time

Abyss/Bully Ray from genesis I remember being a ton of fun. Should try and catch it again. Might have been his last match before becoming the GOAT

Pretty lackluster.

Storm/Kaz lasted roughly six minutes, so it's TV quality you get there. RVD/King was pretty boring, these two just don't have any chemistry. Los Stereotypicos/Morgan & Ryan sucked, especially the ending with Hernandez almost killing Joey and then Morgan got DQ'ed for pulling the referee out of the ring fpalm Tara/Mickie was very solid, but if you're not that much into Knockouts, just leave it out. Angle, Joe & Garett/Aces & Eights... well, you get stuff like that every week on Impact and here you also have face Garett being awful. Daniels/Styles was good, I would rank it above DX 2011 but below LMS DX 2012. Check it out! Roode/Hardy I don't remember this much. It was nowhere near bad, but just too long and predictable since there was no chance of Roode winning at all.

Bully/Hardy Full Metal Mayhem was ridiculously entertaining. Love how they didn't waste any time and went right at it with the high impact offense & spots. Hardy took all the risks (per usual) & to my surprise the commentary actually added a positive element. Bully's obsession with yelling at Brooke was hilarious. The ladder falling over & the premature table break didn't hurt the match either imo, they still hit the move they were lookin for. Only negative was the predictably lame finish. Gladly chuck *** 1/2 at it. Tons of fun.

Missed the Tag Title match, only read the result. Looks like I'll probably skip it.

Well Impact was lame as hell. Nothing like four matches and one being a Rob Terry squash. My enjoyment of TNA is slipping faster and faster after their product weekly is SO formatted that it's sickening. "Four matches. Set divisions. Standard same six workers appear." I'm over it.

Full Metal Mayhem was fun with your brain turned off. Purely thanks to Jeff being a bumping maniac. Unfortunately the match was contrived at times & suffered from spots not panning out as well as they could. Circumstances not under their control. While it took a bit to set up, Jeff's swanton on Bully was perfect. Awesome spectacle to see.

lolz @ TNA's tag team division.
