Post anything related to TNA DVDs here. Questions, match ratings, suggestions, news, ect... are all welcomed.

Couple of questions to start things off (since the other threads were closed)

BGLWrestlingGod: Should I get Turning Point 05?

Jack Evans 197: Should I get Destination X 07?

liljayl23: Best TNA PPVs to buy on DVD?

I can only see it being mentioned b/c of the current championship holders being 3D + an excuse to get Roode & Aries in the main event picture again. Other than that, it is rather thankless.

^^^my thoughts on the X-Division. As for Petey, well if he's still solid I'll be cool with him. If he's like Sonjay (aka a steaming pile of shit these days) then he can go away and stay there.

Ah yes, Tony Nese. How I often speak about him and his potential in the X-Division. Legit had a convo two days ago with a pal saying how ass TNA's mentality was to keep Sorensen over Nese. Not only is Nese better, more seasoned, and although I don't normally care about it, a better looking package, but TNA roped themselves into a corner after the Sorensen incident. Not their fault. Only, it proved they shouldn't have "burned the bridge" with Nese so soon. He can always be brought back. Fine. Meh @ any chances of a revitalization. Division is so lazily booked it isn't funny. It's simply "there". Will forever be an accessory to the ensemble of TNA from here on out.

I'd take Sonjay over Petey these days so take that for what it's worth i suppose. homeboy still has his finisher which will always pretty much keep him over, if limit him to the x division. which isnt bad or anything but yeah.

NESE didn't exactly burn his bridges with tna, he asked for his release and it was granted. iirc he's said in the past he's open to a return. he fits in real well in the x division and has some impressive power which would suit the x division given how he can mix it up. bit of a spanner in the works, not to a doug williams level but it'd make a change from flips and shit (holy crap dont bring back flip kendrick he was so garbage)

Flip Kendrick...he was called "Flip" for a reason. Lolz. Stereotypical Indie geek right there.

Nese was the man. Still is on the indies. He's good. I'd be incredibly open to him coming back on screen. Certainly has the potential to make it past the X-Division thanks to simply not being a "smaller, high flyer" type. Have you seen some of the Gut Check guys who could come in via votes? Some of the names rock. Gregory Iron is one of them, iirc. Which would make for a lock in terms of the whole uphill struggle coming through with a great finale thanks to his psychical disability.

Sonjay is so shit these days. tbf, I was never crazy about him during his prime. (if he ever had one) Nowadays the twat is botching all over the place. Hell, nearly every X-Division match these days has a botch in it. Gone are the days when those were the top matches on the card. Now they're the ones I'm most skeptical of when it comes to anticipation.

You saw what is pretty much his best performance vs Angle @ BFG '07 so let me think...

w/Bully Ray vs Bad Influence ~ Impact 10/11/12

w/Bully Ray vs Aces & Eights ~ Bound For Glory 2012

vs Kurt Angle ~ Impact 10/24/07 (haven't seen it in a good while, but I imagine it could be fun. Better than the other PPV singles matches minus BFG)

vs Samoa Joe ~ Bound For Glory 2008

vs AJ Styles ~ Bound For Glory 2009

vs Jay Lethal ~ Impact 11/13/08

vs Hulk Hogan ~ Bound For Glory 2011

Dawned on me how nearly every one of his Bound For Glory matches has been fun or good. At least he puts effort in on the biggest show of the year. Those should hold you over for now. He doesn't have too many noteworthy matches to speak of. Rest of of his TV matches were usually too short to be much of anything. Thought I'd give the Lethal match a plug since it came off as a fun 5 minute world championship match during the beginning of the Main Event Mafia. Honestly, has most of his PPV matches from that time beat.

If you're feeling saucy for some Wrestlecrap, watch the Sting series vs Abyss from latter 2006 - 2007. Mostly the gimmick matches from 2007 though. Good grief at the Last Rites match from Destination X 2007. Not to mention Sting does a legendary blade job in it. Unless the cut was legit. Either way, the whole match is something words can't describe.

What fond memories Destination X 2007 brings.

Best watch the Steiner/Angle match before the Sting/Abyss match, too, just so you're adequately annoyed enough to appreciate the shittiness that they were all trying to deliver here. DAT ANTI-CLIMACTIC FINISH!

Not to mention Sting does a legendary blade job in it. Unless the cut was legit. Either way, the whole match is something words can't describe.
Aside from the props looking like they were stolen from the set of Beauty and the Beast held in a back-alley playhouse, the camera zooms in on Sting cutting himself and then dropping the blade. You see it for a good long while.

EDIT: rewatching the Last Rites match now. Crowd's screaming "FIRE RUSSO *clap clap clap* FIRE RUSSO". Lulz.

Ah, must have missed it. Or simply was too shocked to notice. The fans crapping all over it will never leave my memory though. The moment the lights went dim & the casket fell into the middle of the ring...their expressions just went blank. Match honestly was the modern day equivalent to the Chamber of Horrors match in '91.

Sting/Aries was indeed really good.

Only thing worth watching this week was the knockouts really and that's only b/c Joey owns. 10 man wasn't terrible now that I think about it. Thought it was weird people complained that Aces weren't looking strong during the babyface shine period despite the fact 5 minutes later Aces were controlling and ultimately picked up the win. Meh.

Impact 4/4/2013

- Knockout's tag * (for teh lulz)
- Pearce/Magno *1/2
- Dutt/Petey/Scorpio **1/2
- 10-man tag ***

Fuck Chavo.

Flip Kendrick :lmao

Anthony Nese, never seen anything of him I can just remember him looking like a miniature Chris Masters. I've seen him lined up on a couple of indy shows though. I can't think of names other than HoH possibly.

Impact was decent this week. The 10 man was fun, as was the KOs match just for JOEY RYAN :mark:

Taryn getting a boobplex almost sounds too perfect. She needs to not be stuck up and let it be done.

Oh it is, isn't it? Ha. Forgot. I'll watch. Only remember about two matches, one being the main event. Which should hopefully be excellent. Considering who it is, there will be no way it won't - at least - be good.

I'd be super jealous of Joey if he did it. Not that I wasn't jealous for the entire match last night.

I totally wasn't reminded about it by PM in order to make the thread :side: card is actually pretty solid tbhayley. Beyond one or two meh matches, theres at least a couple of guys in each that could make something work. I'm quietly hyped, plus iirc Merc w/ a mouth (i think hes the guy who goes to the impact zone, if not whoops) said quite a lot of the matches were at the very least good and he tends to be reliable.
