^I've never seen the event but I know it has the 1st Sting/Jarrett match.(Where Cage turns heel)

I think there's a really good match between Joe/Monty Brown/Rhino.

Also the Petey/Lethal/Senshi match is pretty good, probably about ***1/2.(It's on the X volume 2 DVD)

Since I've only really seen the great matches from before 07 either online or on comps, I'm trying to watch some of the full ppvs from the past. So what better way to start than in 05.

Final Resolution 2005

3 Live Kru vs. Daniels/Bentley/Kaz - **1/4

Skipper vs. Sonjay Dutt - ***1/2

Dustin Rhodes vs. Kid Kash - **

Raven vs. Erik Watts - **

Jeff Hardy vs. Scott Hall - *3/4

Monty Brown vs. Kevin Nash vs. DDP - **

Team Canada vs. AMW - ****1/4

Petey/Sabin/AJ Styles - Ultimate X - ****3/4-*****

Jarrett vs. Won't ruin it... - ***

Some thoughts:

Undercard was a bit meh, but a nice X-divsion match between Skipper and Sonjay.

Never realized how much Devine looked like Charles Robinson

Great tag match between Team Canada and AMW, started off with some brawling on the outside where EY got one nasty looking lump on his forehead. Some great near falls and overall an excellent contest.

Ultimate X was well, awesome. I think everyone's seen this already so I won't go into detail. I almost gave it the full ***** and I definitely wouldn't argue with anybody who did. Easily one of TNA greatest matches ever. I will say just to reiterate the point, that Aj is indeed phenomenal

Main Event wasn't anything special, but it really was a fun match. All kinds of ref bumps and guitar shots etc the works from your typical Jarret match.

I have Styles/Petey/Williams at ****1/2

Best UX match so far

Agreed, recently his character may have been restricting him but he is still argueably the best in ring performer today atleast in main stream promotions

^^^ His character may have restricted from having outstanding matches all the time, but he's still just as over and he did really well with the new personality, so you can argue both ways on which version of AJ was better.

But I will admit, AJ Styles was pretty amazing in 2005. TNA storyline wise was almost pure crap in the early portion of 2005 when Dusty had the book, but I could always say that I had great AJ Styles matches to look forward to.

His UX Match with Petey & Sabin is the best UX ever hands down. Amazing match.

30 Minute Iron Man with Daniels was also amazing. One of my favorite TNA matches ever.

UX Challenge with Daniels, Primetime, and Killings was ok. I liked the ending, and the effort was there, but I didn't think of it as anything special, but this was the point in time where I felt like UX was being done way too much.

Lockdown match with Abyss was awesome. Probably AJ's best in the Heavyweight division.

World Title Match with Jarrett was good. A far cry from their work during the weekly PPVs, but it was well built, and it was really cool to see AJ beat Jarrett for the title again.

KOTMII is the weakest KOTM, but Temple of Doom is also the weakest of the Indy films, and its still pretty damn good. That match was a lot of fun with AJ, Abyss, & Monty involved. IMO, this match is the only real reason to pick up Slammy 05 as everything else was pretty bland.

Match with Waltman was my pick for MOTN for that PPV. It was great.

X Cup Finals with Joe was good, but seemed a little spotty to me. I thought they had much better ones later on.

Like the Unbreakable Triple Threat for example. AJ, Joe, and Daniels tore the house down and thank God they got the main event spot cause nothing else could have come close.

Iron Man II with Daniels is somewhat forgotten. It was very good and almost matchesd the first.

Match with Petey is also kind of forgotten. I saw it again when I picked up Best of AJ Vol 2, and the match was much better than I remembered it.

His match with Joe at TP05 was amazing. It's probably my favorite X Division Title match in TNA history (and that includes the Unbreakable match) It was amazing to watch AJ take that beating and keep going. The match was worked perfectly.

Against All Odds 2005

Elix Skipper vs Petey Williams - **

BG James/Jeff Hammond vs Bentley/Kaz - *

Rhodes vs Raven - *1/2

AMW vs Kash/Hoyt - **3/4

Hardy vs Abyss - ***

DDP & Monty Brown vs. Team Canada - **1/4

Styles vs Daniels - *****

JJ vs Nash - ***1/4

Some Thoughts:

Skipper busting out his new move kinda spoiled who would win.

Nascar guys should never wrestler period, this was complete crap.

Rhodes and Raven seemed to botch the whole damn match.

Full metal Mayhem - was pretty good, with some insane stunts thrown in. The ending was pretty cool, but like TripleG said you could see Hardy wasn't too pleased with the end result. They should have used something other than a Biel to break all those tables.

30 Minute Ironman - My second favorite Tna match besides the Unbreakable 3-way but not too far away. The emotion was off the charts, just seeing Aj struggle to hang on as the blood poured down his face while in that submission move was incredible. Pure wrestling brilliance by both men.

JJ/Nash - Expected crap, but they seemed to know that this wouldn't be a wrestling clinic, so they pulled out all the stops to make it entertaining which it was. The run ins were great and they had some nice brawling on the outside.

Overall, a pretty crummy ppv until the last 2 matches. Definitely worth the watch for the Ironman match.

The Ironman match was great. I thought the PPV was OK, the DDP & Monty Brown vs. Team Canada match really surprised me, I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did.
