Joe vs. Cage at BGF '07: ****
Angle vs. Sting at BGF' 07: ***1/2.

I did also like Joe/Cage a lot more that night. But I thought Angle/Sting was good and maybe even Sting's best regular singles match that I've watched in sometime. I need to get that event on DVD video soon.

Anyone got Against all odds 2005 ratings? I've only seen the 30 minute Ironman match between Aj and Daniels which I thought was *****.

^Yeah I have that match at the full 5* too, never seen the whole event tho.

BFG 07

LAX/XXX-****
Fight For The Right-*3/4
AJ/Tomko vs Killings/Creed-***
Daniels/Lethal-***1/2-***3/4(Pretty underrated match, with a couple more minutes I'd go 4*. Great chemistry)
Team 3D/Steiners-***1/4(Again, very underrated)
Knockout Battle Royal-**1/2
Joe/Cage-****1/4(I love their matches, IMO their better together than Cage/Angle or Joe/Angle. Probably 3rd on my TNA MOTY list behind KOTM and Harris/Storm TDM)
Monsters Ball IV(Reign, Rhino, Abyss, Raven)-**3/4(Not as good as the first 3, but not as bad as some make it out to be.)
Sting/Angle-***3/4-****(Good main event, interference helps the match instead of hurting it)

Damn what a show, this was the 1st time I rewatched it since it's original airing. Sacrifice might have the better well rounded card, but this was the best show of 07 IMO. There is something here for everyone.

Each match brings something different to the table and I really enjoyed this event, might be the best BFG yet.(But all 3 have been awesome, it's really close)

AGA 2005

Skipper vs. Petey - If you want to know why Skipper never got a big singles push, watch this match. There were a lot of botches if I recall. Not too good.

BG James & Nascar's Jeff Hammond vs. Michael Shane & Frankie Kazarian - Sometimes having a celebrity involved can be entertaining (like the match with Wycheck at Slammy) But this match was a big bust. The crowd really hated Hammond.

Raven vs. Dustin Rhodes - OK match, and some people would say I"m being kind. Both were past their primes at this point (especially Dustin), but it wasn't a total trainwreck.

- AMW vs. Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt for the Tag Titles: A rematch from the very first Impact only this time Kash & Hoyt are the ones gunning for the gold. It was a pretty good tag team match, and by about a mile the best match by this point in the show.

- Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy in Full Metal Mayhem - They botched somethings in the match, and Hardy really exposed his stupidity during the finish (he acted pissed that he didn't completely crash through all the tables) If you are a lover of hardcore spotfests, you'll enjoy it (Hardy has one really crazy spot), but TNA has put on much better ones (Monster's Ball II from BFG 2005 for example)

- DDP & Monty Brown vs. Team Canada - This was supposed to be DDP & Monty vs. Roode & Scott Hall, but Hall fell off the wagon again. This match was solid, but seemed like something you'd see on Impact.

- And you were right, AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels was awesome. One of the best matches in TNA history easily.

- Nash vs. Jarrett was very good as well. When this match first happened, some people said the two cheated to make the match good by using so many weapons and run ins, but I don't care. Everybody thought this match was going to blow chunks, and it ended up being very entertaining.

Overall I thought the undercard to this show was somewhat lacking, with AMW vs. Kash/Hoyt being the only above average match. However, I saw AJ/Daniels & Nash/Jarrett as a great "Double Main Event" so that makes the PPV better overall. If you pick it up, get it for those two matches. If you already have them either ripped from the net or burned to a DVD or if they are featured on other TNA DVDs in your collection (I know AJ/Daniels is on Best of X Division Vol. 1) then don't go out of your way to pick it up.

Doesn't look too good there. Thx for the feedback TripleG. I'll probably just try and find the AMW match and the ME they sound like a fun watch.

Genesis 07

Abyss/Reign-**1/2(Way better than I expected, if it wasn't for the aftermath I might even go higher)
Team 3D/MCMG-***3/4-****(Awesome match, probably the most underrated TNA match of 07)
ODB/Roxxi/Gail/Angel-**1/4
Dutt/Lethal-***1/4-***1/2(Very good X Division title match)
Steiners vs AJ/Tomko-**3/4
Joe/Roode-***1/4(Very solid)
Cage/Kaz-****1/4(Damn what a match, definitely in my top 4 for TNA in 07)
Sting/Booker T vs Nash/Angle-**3/4-***(Actually pretty good, the heat is very good for this match. Crap finish tho)

I forgot how damn good this show was, 4th best of 07 for TNA.(Behind BFG, Sacrifice, and No Surrender in that order)

If the main event had been a little longer with a clean finish, this would be even better. Booker's debut was a great moment tho.

Default Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Just rewatched Lockdown 2006. I forgot how good the show was.

- Opener was a World X Cup Preview with Team USA taking on Team Japan. Good match to open up with and it was very action packed. For USA it was Lethal, Dutt, & Shelley and for Japan it was Minoru, Goto, and Black Tiger and all the guys did well.

- Christopher Daniels was supposed to face Jushin "Thunder" Liger, but he pulled out (I remember heating it was because Liger has never worked a cage match before and opted out) but his replacment was more than suitable as it was Daniels' old Triple X partner Senshi. This was a very good X Division match and it did a great job of reintroducing Low Ki to TNA (i'm sorry he's gone now)

- Next up was the big stinker of the show. The Konnan vs. Bob Armstrong Arm Wrestling Match. Ugh. Why didn't they just do James Gang vs. LAX? I'm not saying the match would have been stellar, but the feud was actually VERY well done, and I think a bloody match would have been a better way to end it. This was the only part of the show that royally sucked.

- The show bounced back with the annual X-Scape match. Chris Sabin, Puma, Petey Williams, Elix Skipper, Chase Stevens, & Shark Boy. This match seemed extremely random as far as who was in it, but it was a really fun X Division spotfesty match. The Xscape matches are always a highlight of Lockdown, so this was great.

- The X Division Title was on the line next as Samoa Joe defended against Sabu. This was a really unique pairing and these two had a good solid match up. It was short, but considering Sabu came into the match with a broken arm, I thought they did the best they could. It was good.

- Next up was a Six Man Tag Team Flag Match as Team Canada (Roode, Young, A-1) took on Team 3D (Ray, Devon, Runt) And this was a very entertaining match up. The match was set up like Capture the Flag with the two teams fighting to steal their country's flag from the opponents' side of the ring, and it came off much better than it sounds.

So far the show was solid, but it was the Double Main Event that really made Lockdown 2006 one of TNA's Best.

- Christian vs. Abyss for the World Title was amazing. I remember a friend of mine telling me that he felt it was the best cage match he had seen since Bret vs. Owen from Summerslam. That's a hell of a compliment! This match was very violent and brutal, and arguably the best TNA match for both men. MOTN easily.

- Lethal Lockdown closed the show with Sting's Warriors (Sting, AJ Styles, Ron Killings, & Rhino) taking on Jarrett's Army (Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, & America's Most Wanted) This was a great match. I remember the 1st Lethal Lockdown sucking big time, but this one really felt like the return of War Games and it was great. Also, be sure to check out that crazy spot between AJ & Storm. This match was awesome.

Best way to sum up Lockdown 06 - Solid undercard with two AWESOME main events. That makes for a great show IMO.
