Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I don't usually order most of the PPV's, I really can't afford paying $30 every month for it. I do have a DVR tho if I wanted to record them onto that.
But there was an occasion when I ordered a TNA PPV a little bit late, and then just figured I could record the replay. It never recorded and I ended up paying full price and only seeing like 1/3 of the show, so that kinda turned me off to relying on recording them that way.(I'd rather have the DVD's anyway)

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Oh yeah I don't buy every single event on DVD at all, I usually only get the must owns. BFG and Genesis were both great shows to me, so they were ones I needed. Then X vol. 2 has alot of rare stuff and some great matches and it was only $8 and so was FR 07.(For so cheap I couldn't pass up)
The reason I wanted Slammi 07 is cause it has the KOTM match which might've been the 2007 TNA MOTY, atleast in the top 3. Plus, out of the 7 matches on the Best of 07 DVD there were only 5 I wanted.(I wasn't interested in the Elevation X match or Joe/Angle IV with the horrible Karen turn)
So now I have the 2 BFG matches and the Genesis ladder match, and I just need Slammi and Sacrifice to have all those matches. Sacrifice really should be in my collection, it has like 7 ***+ matches but you can only get it from shoptna and have to pay the full $20 for it, eventually I will.
Edit: For anyone who's interested, ShopTNA has a bunch of DVD's on sale for $7.99 right now. Mostly Best Of's and a few 2005 PPV's, I pretty much have anything there I would want besides maybe the Daniels and Raven Best Of's.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
AJ Styles 2005 on PPV
Final Resolution-vs Petey/Sabin-Ultimate X-****3/4
Against All Odds-vs Daniels-Ironman Match-*****
Destination X-vs Daniels/Killings/Skipper-***3/4
Lockdown-vs Abyss-Six Sides Of Steel-****1/2
Hard Justice-vs Jarrett-***1/2
Slammiversary-vs Raven/Waltman/Monty/Abyss-KOTM-***3/4
No Surrender-vs Waltman-****
Sacrifice-vs Samoa Joe-****1/2
Unbreakable-vs Samoa Joe/Daniels-*****
BFG-vs Daniels-Ironman Match-****1/4-****1/2(Just rewatched this, new found respect for it)
Genesis-vs Petey-***3/4

That can be summed up in 2 words...simply phenomenal. IMO the single greatest year for anybody on PPV, and that's not even counting some great matches he had on Impact and so forth.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
If you would have told me at the iend of 2005 AJ hadn't had a **** match in TNA since 05, I would have slapped you down like the dog you are, but truth is he hasn't. He has had an awesome match against Tanahashi in NJPW (****) this year, and maybe he'll hit **** again in TNA when he faces Angle down the road.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
^I know right, he was pumping them out left and right in 05. Well he was in several ****+ matches that weren't singles matches, like KOTM 07 and Lethal Lockdown 07 and 08.
The closest singles match I can think of his his match with Christian at Genesis 06, probably like ***3/4 maybe even 4*.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
AJ vs. Chritian (GEN06) --- ***3/4
Lethal Lockdown 2007 --- ***3/4
KOTM 2007 --- ****
Lethal Lockdown 2008 --- ***3/4 (very close to ****)
EDIT: BTW, If you like AJ I recommend getting his ROH Volume 2 DVD. Here are my ratings:

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
AJ/Cage-***3/4
Lethal Lockdown 2007-****
KOTm 2007-****1/4-****1/2(I loved this, thought it was TNA MOTY for 07)
Lethal Lockdown 2008-****1/4(Haven't seen it since I saw it live tho, so this could change.)
Also his tag matches with Daniels vs LAX and AMW were all 4*+ as well IMO.
vs AMW-Slammi 06-****
vs LAX-No Surrender 06-****1/4
vs LAX-BFG 06-****-****1/4

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Oh yeah totally forgot about his tag matches with Daniels. I agree on those 3 ratings. What a team.
