Ok, so I have to ask this now as you mentioned two different facts from two different 2012 PPVs haha: Which show did you see, Aries winning the World Championship from Roode @ Destination X or Christian return at Slammiversary? The latter was in June and the former was in July so maybe you saw both?

It was pretty good in 2012. It honestly was. Right now...meh. It's actually quite bad pardon a nice shocker last Thursday. Don't know if it is going to be a "good" angle, but it was a surprise. They got points for that. Hardy as champ earns no gripes from me. I've always been quite a fan of his and he's been giving some great face performances since winning the World Championship, so I'm cool. No doubt I'd love to see Bully Ray or Christopher Daniels get their time in the sun with the world championship. They equally deserve it and would be a great guy to hand off from Hardy. The contenders in TNA are really awesome when you break it down. Daniels, Bully, Roode, Aries, & even though I'm burned out personally, AJ Styles is still plenty awesome in the ring so he'd fit right in too. Oh, and Samoa Joe of course. Only he's used in such bad fashion I forgot to list him among guy who SHOULD be main eventing.

IMO the promotion felt much, much different back in 2010 & 2011. Didn't feel like TNA as you said. I thought 2012 got grounded and went back to feeling like the same company again. Only better than past years. The influx of Joseph Park needs to be mentioned. You seen him yet? It's Abyss working as his "brother", a lawyer from Chicago, and my word, it is the best character work in the whole of TNA. Bar none. He's generally the highlight of the week on Impact with Bad Influence (Daniels & Kazarian).
Haha whoops, I got confused. It was Slammiversary I saw. I remember now that Sting/Roode was the main event of that PPV. I remember watching the ending of Aries/Roode not to long after it happened just to see how Aries won the title, because everyone was praising the result so much on this forum. And yes I saw Abyss play Joesph Park in his match with Bully Ray at Slammiversary, but that's pretty much all I've seen of him. Sounds like a funny development though. I never minded Abyss and I thought he worked well with James Mitchell, and as I said in another thread but the question never got answered, what happened to James Mitchell? Always thought he was a great manager.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

We still get all TNA ppvs free. They have ad's though so I just tend to download them. That and my housemates aren't keen on 4 hours of wrestling on a wednesday night.

imo Joe Park hasn't had a bad match yet. Everything he's done has been great. I think Mitchell left in the whole Judas Messias thing but I'm not fully sure. I can't praise Joe Park enough. Really splendid character. He, Bad Influence, Aries & Roode are the main reasons I still watch every week.

Sacrifice through till BFG is all solid imo. No Surrender is ass and BFG isn't stellar but it has its highlights. Anything Aries did in 2012 is GOLD. Possibly the best calendar year in TNA one man has had. Definitely one of the better ones. Albeit I havent seen the second match vs Bully Ray but I hear good things.

Got ya. Slammiversary was a prime show. So much fun. Glad that's the event you caught.

Well, I'll recommend searching out more from Park. He's the best. Both hilarious in all the right ways and awesome at the same time. Matches vs D.O.C. (Luke Gallows) & Devon recently are must sees. I don't mean to over hype those, but they're legit some of the most entertaining. Especially vs Devon. That is to say if you really were into his great contest vs Bully back at Slammiversary.

100% on point with me too. Those are the central aspects of TNA right now. Bully would still be too if he wasn't saddled with Brooke and Brotherman atm.

No Surrender & AAO are pretty much skippable shows. Check out Aries vs Shelley from AAO though. That goes without saying since it involves ARIES aka the man of 2012. Lockdown also sucks too, I'm sad to say. Rest Shep recommended is more spot on treatment. I got Bully vs Aries III on DVD. In fact I own all 3 of their bouts. Been meaning to watch and give a mini review for some fun. Might do that tonight, in fact.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Me and Cal dig Roode/Storm from Lockdown but I think we're the only ones imo if it had a better crowd it'd be a legit MOTYC. I like Aries/Shelley more and more whenever I watch it. Their promos were solid too. Such good chemistry yet one ppv match together. I get they wanted to push Aries up the card but still (i think ive mentioned before how i disagreed with him winning the title in hindsight too but him & roode get to own now. match vs bad influence plz)

Yeah I'm not digging face Bully. Caught the TAZ thing and ugh. I'm too tired/tipsy to go into detail now but yeah. Probably mention it in the aces thread some time tomorrow

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I like the cage match too. Only saw it once so perhaps it deserves another go around. Anything to pimp out ROODE I'm down for. Speaking of which, Roode & Aries. omg. Talk about saving the tag team championships. They'll be up there on Bad Influence level. No doubt. They already are.

Face Bully is grouped with nonsense. I wouldn't say it is his fault. Although, BULLY gets lost in the shuffle when booked as a face. Remember when he was the top heel? Yeah, me neither.

IT'S TAZ. Like I said, won't exactly call it good, but hell at least they're trying to swerve us. I take it. I got a kick out of it, for better or for worse. "IS IT HOT IN HERE?" - TAZ

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I liked that Lockdown cage match also, I just hated how dead the crowd was for everyone. Well Hardy got cheered but he pretty much always does.

Really hoping Roode and Aries win those titles. I like them both a lot.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Plus, Jeff did a MASSIVE spot. That will awaken any dead crowd for a brief bit. Jeff's pop is a clear indicator as to why he's the World Champion right now. Most over guy on the roster who isn't Hogan or Sting.

I think they should be a lock. It is Roode & Aries after all. It's building towards the championship win. The moment Chavo & Hernandez came out on Thursday - boom. Done.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Yeah that's right he did do that big Swanton off the top. Plus I think that match also had him doing the Vader Bomb(splash) from the middle rope which looked pretty cool.

Hope so man. Looks like Magnus should be returning for the UK shows so I wonder if he'll stay heel and keep feuding with Joe. Or will he come back as face since the Aces and Eights were the ones who took him out. I know it makes sense for him to still be feuding with Joe but I'd like to see Roode and Aries vs. Joe and Magnus sometime in the near future. I think that match/feud would be awesome.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I have a feeling Magnus might be a tweener. Which he pretty much was to a fair degree before being taken out. He's there to take care of himself and that's about it. That way he can duke it out with Aces or anyone else who comes in his way. I don't see the program with Joe continuing. That was purely over the tandem falling away and wanting to compete over the Television championship. Now that Joe doesn't have it, I sense the basis behind it is lost.

Re-kindling the team to take out Roode & Aries would be fabulous. Count me in for seeing that potential match.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Yeah tweener might be a good fit for him, I know the UK crowd is gonna be loud for him no matter what. He killed it last year with the "THIS IS ENGLAND!" promo.

But yeah man I do wanna see that tag feud come about.
