Really can't disagree too much with that. Between that match, AJ/Waltman, Petey/Daniels, Raven/Abyss, and even matches like Shelley & Bentley/AMW, there is a lot to like about that show.

It's just the hate for Anderson that makes all of you underrate the match and the love for everything Park does that makes you overrate his stuff on the other hand.
So a match HAS to have good wrestling? Why do Park/Devon have to wrestle, neither is known for being good at it. Devon's a big burly biker dude and Park is a lawyer. The only reason Devon tries to outwrestle him in the start is to embarass him and it goes bad for him.

lmao at calling us biased against anderson when you're clearly the opposite. Everyone has their favourites and preferences. Wrestling is a subjective thing. I'd much rather take the stellar storytelling of a Joe Park match than Joe/Anderson putting on a substandard match. I didn't even go in with bad expectations, I was expecting Joe beating on him and Ken winning via shenanigans. And I usually like Joe beating on people. But fuck it was boring.

It's the only negative about the company that seems to stand over the years. Not to say they can't create magic atmospheres, only it's more of a rarity tbhayley. I felt the match accomplished a lot regardless. I bought into all aspects. A great match by two great workers. It doesn't top Bully vs Aries for me however..
Nah it's an above average IZ crowd, pretty dead for most of the show before the ME though. Slammy still has the BEST recent crowd I can recall.

Can anyone name a better babyface on the roster than Park btw? Legit can't think of anyone better at evoking crowd reaction and getting them behind him. Builds his comebacks superbly with facial expressions and everything he does. FUCK Abyss took too long to get that mask off.

Only match on the show I didn't enjoy was the bad X-Division 4 way. Even the 3LK vs Full Monty tag managed to not sour me much thanks to it being short. It's a wonderful event.

Well, I was only talking about the main event. They seemed pretty lively. Maybe that's how I choose to remember it b/c I dug the match so much.

Nope. Simple answer there. Nobody touches Joe Park imo. Hardy does come close only b/c he has such a strong charisma that speaks to the fans. Only it's not much of a character. Just a personality trait. Park is the tops no matter what.

I applaud the on point call out for the guy trying to defend Ken Anderson by labeling us as the "haters". It's always a two way street there. Feels like the Callihan/Younger match debate in the Indie DVD thread. Only this time it's come with less logic. (don't mean to poke the bear, but really writing off people for hating it b/c "they" don't enjoy Anderson? Obviously there is a reason behind it the dislike. It's a bad match. I like Kenny King but his match sucked too)

Man I forgot AJ. He'd be my no 2. Lacks some character work but his selling and working is top notch. Incredibly consistent too. AJ/Aries sometime this year PLEASE.

PLEASE no heel AJ too.

Yet to see a Bully match as a face that comes close to Hardy. Sting hasn't garnered any face sympathy since the 90's & AJ Styles? Yeah, no way on that front. Probably b/c I'm totally burnt out on the guy.

I stand by my point. Hardy is the #2 b/c he's the only guy left.

Bought my first ever TNA PPV's the other day on Ebay.

I ended up buying:

Against all Odds 2006
Lockdown 2006
Slammiversary 2006

And I was really tempted to also buy Bound For Glory 2006

I watched TNA on a regular basis from 2004-2009, and 2006 was most definitely my favorite year in TNA (I actually think 2006 TNA was probably better than WWE in 2006 - and 2006 was a great year for WWE too).

So I'm wondering what does everyone thinking of those shows, maybe some match ratings, and TNA in general in 2006? I post from time to time in the WWE DVD/match thread, but this is my first time posting in the TNA one.

Sacrifice 2005-BFG 2006 are all solid and you can't go wrong with buying any of them. Hailsabin is way better on specific thoughts on them than me probably since I've been meaning to rewatch some of the shows in full and only been watching the odd match.

iirc Senshi (Low-Ki) vs Daniels and Abyss/Christian from Lockdown OWN (i think you're a christian fan too so that'll help?)

Against All Odds has one of the best feel good moments I can recall in TNA too.

GREAT purchase. 2006 was their best year (while my favorite event does come from 2005)

I'll bust out some STARS tomorrow b/c I'm lazy and sleepy at the moment. Long story short all 3 are legit really good - great events. Hard to say which I think is stronger between Lockdown & Slammiversary. Maybe Slammiversary thanks to the fantastic tag team championship match.

AAO - a solid Christian/Jarrett World Championship match, Rhino vs Abyss killing each other in a fun brawl, solid opener (watch for the obvious and hilarious botched delay though.), another solid tag team championship match, and the AWESOME rematch between Styles vs Daniels vs Joe. It's even better than the infamous Unbreakable match. Overall it is a very solid event. You'll enjoy it.

Lockdown - Team TNA vs Team Japan is quality, Daniels vs MYSTERY OPPONENT brings the goods too, Xscape is a fun spotty bout and includes Chris Sabin so ~!, Joe vs Sabu is meh. you'll get a kick out of Joe abusing the moron no doubt. Team 3D vs Team Canada is nothing special, but it's a decent enough way to cap their program. Christian vs Abyss is really good - especially if you never saw Abyss vs Styles from the year prior. (they do recycle a few spots, but it's still a damn good match) & Lethal Lockdown was about the 2nd or 3rd best in the history of the gimmick so enjoy.

Slammiversary - Probably the most fun you'll have watching an opener in TNA history. Well, maybe. Some do rival it, but it's loads of fun when 3D & James Gang brawl. Handicap match is a sleeper bout, X division 6 way is solid, Sabin vs NASH works and is about Nash's best match in TNA, AMW vs Styles/Daniels is GREAT. Easily the best match out of all 3 PPVs, Joe vs Steiner is a slugfest that I personally enjoyed, and KOTM was FUN. Seems to be a bit polarizing on how some fair with that gimmick though. It's a tad bit complex. But, considering the curve with TNA, it's not all bad.
