Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
GREAT purchase. 2006 was their best year (while my favorite event does come from 2005)
I'll bust out some STARS tomorrow b/c I'm lazy and sleepy at the moment. Long story short all 3 are legit really good - great events. Hard to say which I think is stronger between Lockdown & Slammiversary. Maybe Slammiversary thanks to the fantastic tag team championship match.
AAO - a solid Christian/Jarrett World Championship match, Rhino vs Abyss killing each other in a fun brawl, solid opener (watch for the obvious and hilarious botched delay though.), another solid tag team championship match, and the AWESOME rematch between Styles vs Daniels vs Joe. It's even better than the infamous Unbreakable match. Overall it is a very solid event. You'll enjoy it.
Lockdown - Team TNA vs Team Japan is quality, Daniels vs MYSTERY OPPONENT brings the goods too, Xscape is a fun spotty bout and includes Chris Sabin so ~!, Joe vs Sabu is meh. you'll get a kick out of Joe abusing the moron no doubt. Team 3D vs Team Canada is nothing special, but it's a decent enough way to cap their program. Christian vs Abyss is really good - especially if you never saw Abyss vs Styles from the year prior. (they do recycle a few spots, but it's still a damn good match) & Lethal Lockdown was about the 2nd or 3rd best in the history of the gimmick so enjoy.
Slammiversary - Probably the most fun you'll have watching an opener in TNA history. Well, maybe. Some do rival it, but it's loads of fun when 3D & James Gang brawl. Handicap match is a sleeper bout, X division 6 way is solid, Sabin vs NASH works and is about Nash's best match in TNA, AMW vs Styles/Daniels is GREAT. Easily the best match out of all 3 PPVs, Joe vs Steiner is a slugfest that I personally enjoyed, and KOTM was FUN. Seems to be a bit polarizing on how some fair with that gimmick though. It's a tad bit complex. But, considering the curve with TNA, it's not all bad.
You suck the blood of the afflicted.
