Best Impact match of 2006 - Joe vs Daniels? I'm certain that's a lock.
yes. definitely that one. Sick finish too.

There were some decent ones

Rhino/Cage - Barbed Wire Cage
Abyss / Angle (Same show as Rhino/Cage)
AJ & Daniels / LAX - Street Fight Tag Titles

07 had lots of them like the first 2 hr episode main event (Joe/Rikishi/LAX v Cage/Low-Ki/Daniels/AJ). AJ/Kaz ladder match for turkey suit

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Ah yes, the Border City Street Fight between LAX & Daniels/Styles was radical. I don't recall ANYTHING about the Christian/Rhino cage match other than the insanity driven finish. I'll have to scope it out. Angle vs Abyss was decent. I remember being so mad when Abyss submitted, ha.

I missed so much Impact in 2007. I don't know why I was sporadic the moment Sabin lost the championship, but I was. From about the second week after Slammiversary - the 2 hour debut I didn't even watch. I need to get all those episodes and slam through them. Could be fun. It was the year of the gimmicks, but I'm one of the minority (I think it's minority?) who liked Impact much more with only one hour instead of when it went two.

I own the Chris Harris vs James Storm King of the Mountain qualifying match from an Impact in 2007. It's a candidate for one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Should have ended at the internal classic aka their Texas Death Match.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I missed out on a large portion of the good TV matches from that year because the TV was so hideous to watch that I could not stand to get through most of it. So much detriment to everyone on the roster at the time with very, very, VERY few redeemable things.

The aforementioned 8-man tag is excellent though, as is Styles/Kazarian.

On note of TNA fails, the fact that they never did Styles & Tomko/MCMG or LAX on PPV but we got Styles & Tomko/Steiners and them vs. BG JAMES AND BOB ARMSTRONG on PPV has to be considered a capital F-A-I-L FAIL (but that is almost everything MCMG related from 2007-mid 2010, not in terms of matches but in terms of booking.)

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I second that and then some. I often credit the worst opening in the history of TNA on PPV was Styles & Tomko vs BG James & Bullet Bob. The recent tag from Genesis could rival it though.

The fall of the company from 2007 after the great year of 2006 was soul crushing. In no time flat the promotions just became bad. It's like what happened to TNA right now. 2012 was pretty good for the overall aspect. Out of nowhere things just got really bad and uninteresting.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

If nothing else, at least with today in comparison to five years ago, we have a lot of "fresh" faces (I use that term loosely since pretty much everyone I am referring to was around then as well. They were just used incredibly poorly until TNA finally figured out what they had) occupying television such as Roode and Aries. I mean, you figure that last year alone Roode was in 9 of 12 PPV main events. In 07, you had Christian and Angle in essentially every other PPV main event. They at least performed, but almost the entire roster suffered from them being overpushed.

With the exception of a couple people today (IE: Magnus), there isn't anyone on the roster that I am incredibly annoyed with their treatment, which is more than I can say for five years ago between Joe/AJ/Lethal/Kazarian/Daniels/Chris Harris/etc all being victims of horrendous booking.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

2007 had the best KOTM match, imo. Even Harris had a part and when they split AMW, Storm succeeded feuding with 'alcoholic' abuse victim Rhyno, while Harris floundered in horrible with the Black Reign.

not to mention the year of gimmicks (like dest x ppv had like 7 gimmick matches :facepalm. about the worst possible feud between Abyss/Sting, which was ripped off from another horrible feud from WCW (Sting/Vampiro). AJ being the goof. Daniels vs Sting promised a lot and ended with a single match with clean finish. Christian losing to Joe clean in the most one sided match in history.

That was a rough year.

I never watch TNA but I'm bored out of my mind and feeling to watch some wrestling. What's the best TNA match in the last year? Aries/Roode looks good on paper.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Roode/Aries from Destination X is my favourite but Aries had a lot of good. Ray match is solid too, same for a one w/ Shelley. Roode/AJ from the 5/24 impact is the best tv match tna had last year.
