It's the character of Joe Park which is phenominal and can't be praised enough. The guy is something like a ten year pro (probably even more counting pre-TNA) but can go in the ring like he's never wrestled in his life. His fake punches, ways of running the ropes or even just entering the ring is amazing when you think about how long he's just been doing it. It's essentially forgetting the most important things in life. On top of that his mannerisms and facial expressions help him connect with the crowd as they can almost feel the empathy of a guy with no experience (kayfabe) going up against one of the toughest in TNA like Bully Ray. You're watching him get bullied (pardon the pun) and willing for some way for him to get his own back. Shit some of the babyfaces today should watch this match to learn how to get people really invested in your comebacks. Not to mention he more or less seamlessly transitions to the Abyss character which is everything his brother is not. You'd be hard pressed to find better character work in a match this year tbh. I''ve never really known what to rate it but I know its feckin awesome everytime I watch. One of my favourites this year no doubt.

I'm digging Jeff as champion. It's clicking for me. Build ups sure haven't been spectacular, but I'll claim it's baby steps for TNA right now. The content is generally good. For me that's where it needed improvement first.

Turning Point match was a fun watch but it never clicked for me. Liked the usage of ladders and stuff but i wouldn't call it a MOTYC.
Yep. Same here. Liked the Ladder match for what it was. Did it blow me away or would I consider it a top contender? Nah. It was simply a fun match that I got a kick out of. Good way to put a cap on their feud. For the time being until now. I liked both the BFG & Impact matches more, personally.

<3 you Shep for your perfect analysis on what makes the Bully vs PARK match stand out and Joe Park in general. Hard to believe he's the same guy who turned a decent character with good skills into a bad character for the last 4 years, only to revamp his character completely and become fresh & fantastic all at the same time. Congrats to Chris...I mean JOSEPH.

So yeah, TNA is finally back on the track when it comes to having a constantly good/great matches and shows, especially during summer. Aries dominates the list, it's obvious, and Jeff Hardy has proved he can go damn high (no pun intended) when he's motivated. Bully, Daniels, Roode and Styles (duh!) had top notch year too. Also, there was a shitload of ***+ matches on TV, especially during summer.

Recently watched:

- Joe/Magnus (Impact 8/16) ***
- Joe/Styles (Impact 8/30) ***1/2 (seriously good shit)
- Storm/Aries (Impact 10/11) ***
- BullyStingers/DanielsKaz (Impact 10/11) ****1/4 (sweet mother of MOSES!)
- Roode/Hardy (Impact 10/11) ***1/2

Aries in 2012:

- Genesis: ***
- AAO: ****
- Victory Road: ***
- Lockdown: didn't watch the LL
- Sacrifice: ****1/2 (TNA MOTY)
- Slammiversary: ***3/4
- DX: ****1/4
- Justice: ***1/2
- No Surrender: didn't wrestle
- BFG: ****1/4
- Turning Point: *** (watched only once, though)
- Final Resolution: ****

Plus, there's a big pile of good TV matches with him. The snowflakes tell the entire story.

Solid... but not that good, IMO. It was cool on live watch, but I wouldn't go over **1/2.

Yeah it's a solid match but nothing more. I liked the whole submission focus given it was a series match but it's not something im ever going to go out of my way to rewatch. Only if I watch the whole DX event again.

Somebody want to be a babe and find me a link to this Sting/Bully vs Bad Influence match? Sure as hell can't remember it happening. Joe have you seen Roode/Aries 5/24, that's comfortably my TV MOTY, Storm/Styles might be second. I'd have to think about it

Recall only having the tag match at ***. Pretty boneheaded finish that didn't sit well with me. Fun match overall. I'll gladly stand by my point that Roode vs Styles has it beat.

I ordered TNA On demand 30 day subscription last week and wanted to say, I'm fairly happy with it. I'll probably buy a longer subscription eventually. I wanted to watch all the PPVs in order and there is no way I'll do that in 30 days lol.

Anyway, besides having to restart the streams and not being able to save your log in, I'm really enjoying the service.

As for the PPVs I watched, Victory Road 04 and Turning point 04... Man, these PPVS really show TNA's immaturity as a company and potential all at the same time. The shots at WWE with actual skits are dumb as hell, yet the X-division was on fire then. Petey Williams and Chris Sabin had a great match at Turning point 04

The tag division had alot more depth too.. AMW/Triple X in six sides of steel at Turning point 04 still holds up as a great blowoff to a blood feud.. didn't even need the tag titles and it MAIN EVENTED!

I really got back into TNA with the rise of Austin Aries but its nice to look back on TNA's history. if only the ondemand had every asylum show and Impact lol.. I barely saw any of the Asylum shows..
