Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I have not watched TNA since 2010, and I am trying to get back into it. Can anyone give me some thoughts and maybe ratings on Slammiversary 2012 and Victory Road 2012. Are they good shows, because on paper they look awesome.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Victory Road is a throwaway PPV to lead into Lockdown. Really nothing special overall. Aries/Ion, Hardy/Angle, & Roode/Sting are the only ones I can suggest you to look at. Don't expect much from Bully/Storm. I won't spoil that for you if you decide to watch the entire event, but simply letting you know.
Watch Slammiversay. Fun show with a hot crowd. Aries vs Joe is worth it. Daniels/Kazarian vs Angle/Styles has gotten mad praise around these parts as well. If you dig any of the 4, I'm sure you'll be a fan too.
idk how caught up you are with current storylines considering you said you haven't watched since 2010 (pre or post Immortal days?) but I say give a good portion of 2012 a chance as you might dig it. Certainly has been a stronger year, match wise, than 2011. Which was pretty gastly for the majority. Anything you hear about "Claire Lynch" isn't worth your time. Unless you really want to see Daniels be one awesome heel. Be prepared to stomache some crap acting in the process though.
I wrote up a detailed review on Bound For Glory 2012 a few pages back if your interested. It does contain spoilers, so if you're avoiding then perhaps it is best not to take a gander at it. I'm also finishing up Hardcore Justice 2012 atm and I'll post my thoughts/ratings on it soon enough in case you wanted to pursue the entire 2012 PPV calendar so far.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I know JoeRulz really digs Angle/Hardy but I think it's pretty bad. Starts well but descends into chaos at the end like most Angle matches. Anything from Sacrifice onwards this year (even if just for Aries/Ray) won't disappoint you but also check out Aries/Shelley from Against All odds for a really fun match. I'm sure I could be more specific if you want.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
C'mon, Shepard, it wasn't that chaotic. Or bad. It actually had the strongest Angle finishing stretch since Lockdown 2010, IMO... Idk, watched the match two times and I love it, it was somehow logical... It felt like a WWE style match.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I just struggled with it. I mean it wasn't No Surrender bad or anything and was way better than their Lockdown match this year but yeah. I'm a bit fuzzy on it but here's my review anyway:

But from the get go where Taz mentioned on commentary Angle might go for the legs to ground Hardy I had my doubts. The opening bit is a fun little collection of exchanges right until Jeff takes a bump on the guard rail. I saw Kurt take a couple shots on Jeff's legs and ankle but I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Still it was a better than usual match. Then the finish just lost me. Twist of Fate, goes for a Swanton and Kurt miraculously jumps up and belly to bellys Jeff. Kurt then takes another two twist of fates (which are both met by mild reactions from Tenay and Taz as well, adding even less to the nearfalls) before Jeff finally hits the swanton but Kurt rolls him up for the screwy finish going into Lockdown. I think I had this on par with the Lockdown match, maybe slightly behind. I'm not really in any hurry to catch it though to double check. I might go watch Aries/Bully and Aries/Shelley again and put some proper ratings on them.

I named dropped it since I thought that was one of the appealing matches to the guy. He might dig the fall apart Angle shitstorm that rains down at the end of all his matches.
Yes. Elevation X is like a segment. Not a match. But, we all have our guilty pleasures.
Same. I recently bought it. I should get on it today. Do nothing but cram a ton of wrestling since I have zero plans atm.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
That's actually not unappealing to me. (plus you have something to do meanwhile I'm job hunting and sitting on my ass)
It really is. Generico is demolishing the face of Joey Ryan btw. New face of TNA nearly lost it there.
Ok, so I ate lunch and spent my time watching Are You Serious/WCW wrestlecrap videos instead of watching a full PPV. idk which to watch atm so I'll let someone(pretty much Shep) pick:
Unbreakable
Bound For Glory 2006
Slammiversary 2007
Bound For Glory 2007
Final Resolution 2008
No Surrender 2009
Turning Point 2009 (last 4 matches)
Final Resolution 2009
Against All Odds 2010
No Surrender 2012
Go.
