Overall Thoughts - Decent but skippable. The mediocre and the average overweighed the solid and the good in this PPV. I thought for a regular PPV 9 matches is one or two too many and it proved. In the 9 matches that took place on this PPV I could care less for 4 or 5 of them. I am not going to dwell on that though as we had 3 really good encounters here along with two solid tag matches. Dudleys/AMW and AJ/Tanahashi were sort of spoiled by the poor endings but whatever. The main event suceeded my expectations as I am not a fan in the slightest of tag matches without titles on the line main eventing but with the return of the icon it totally worked. Finally we had Joe/Daniels which was a very good match that had an ending where it legitametly looked as though Joe killed Daniels. To summarize I have to say I am at a loss why I added this to my short list of TNA DVD's when there looks to be so much better shows out there, I suppose I was foolish when I was 15, still the last 2 matches saved the show (much like Lockdown 08).

Overall Thoughts - Decent show. Much like what would take place a year later this show was very simular to FR06, with the only thing seperating the two shows being the fantastic triple threat match. Yet again we had too many average matches that you have to pose the question of whether they are PPV worthy. The triple threat completely prevented this show from being described as passable, the ending to the match was pure genious IMO. Team Canada had a very fun match with AMW, although the constant interferrance did annoy me come the end of the match. Other mentions go to Skipper/Dutt who had the third best wrestling contest of the night that nearly made me go ***. The main event was overbooked which took away from the actual wrestling that you normally see in main events but neither Jarrett or Brown are anything special in the ring so that was probabaly a good thing. TBH the outside brawling, cheating and ref bumps made this match pretty fun tbh. Overall a show that had some good matches but yet again I felt the good-excellent was overweighed by the poor-decent.

DVD Match Extra: AJ Styles & Tomko vs. Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash (Impact 2/14/08) - **
A better show for what it's worth then what was Against All Odds last year. There are some matches on here that I wouldn't give the time of day to see again. But it's watchable in more areas then one. Kong vs. ODB, the six man street fight and Angle vs. Cage are what I say is the best of what this has to offer overall. As most of them are good and one might be pushed as in fact a great by me. Angle/Cage match is the favorite to see and for now is one of the best matches I have actually got to watch for the year. I would mention the rest of the show beyond of just that. But I was less impressed by some of it. I say the extras "which also includes Kurt & Karen's segment of them trying to renew their wedding vows" don't add anything much to the DVD either. But with the $10 price I got this for, I can't complain.

Kurt Angle vs Christian Cage - Against All Odds 2008
They started off with the technical stuff and then transitioned into high energy back and forth action. Kurt and Christian worked this match at a fantastic pace from beginning to end and Joe, Karen, AJ and Tomko were all incorporated into it without pulling it down. The crowd was hot throughout and rightfully so as this is my pick for TNA MOTY so far.
I see i'm a little late lol but heres a more thourough review of BFG 06and if u want i can do one like this for 07 let me know.
Bound for Glory 2006
this is the worst out of the 3 BFG's but that doesnt make it bad. It is still overall a good show and imo worth the buy so lets get down to the matches.
Kevin Nash X Division Invitational Battle Royal
This is a great way to open up the show and just ur usually fun, high flying battle royal. Shelley, Dutt, Austin Starr, Elix Skipper, Kazarian all make appearances. A few surprises in here as well such as Zach Gowen and D Ray 3000. Great opener and not in anyway bad
Four Corners Tag Match: Team 3D vs. James Gang vs. AMW vs. The Naturals
Short But Sweet Match here. Good Exchange Between all of the tag teams. Eventually ends with James Gang and AMW brawling out of the arena as Naturals and Team 3D battle it out and 3D picks up the victory w/ the dudley death drop
Monsters Ball Match: Brother Runt vs. Raven vs. Abyss vs. Samoa Joe
Good hardcore battle here. Mostly a spotfest but a pretty good one at that. Kinda stupid way to book Samoa Joe at their biggest ppv but w/e. A few table spots with Raven sending Joe into 2 tables off the entrance ramp. Runt getting thrown from the top of the set onto a platform and then Abyss jumping on top of him. Abyss throwing Runt into the crowd. Samoa Joe flipping over the top rope onto all three men. Eventually Joe gets the win after a senton onto Abyss into thumbtacks and A muscle buster to Raven. Jake Roberts also was the guest referee and gives Raven a DDT at the end and puts his snake on him which made it more interesting
Eric Young vs. Larry Zybysco Loser Gets Fired
Short comedy filler match here. Nothing special at all. Eric Young gets the fast when using some brass knucks type weapon on Zybysco after he tries to use it on Eric
TNA X-Division Title: Sabin vs. Senshi
Awesome Title match. Im pretty sure this is my favorite x title match of the year 2006. When these 2 face each other in the ring it is pure x division gold. It tops their match the month before at No surrender and i loved it. It starts out slow as they feel each other out but then gets crazy as both hit ther finishing moves and kick out of them. Sabin gets the quick when with a rollup later on. Great match and an awesome win for Sabin.
8 Mile Street Fight: Cage vs. Rhino
This match is entertaining and all but overrated in my mind by TNA in general. It is a good brawl and i loved the storyline between the two and everything but nothing really did it for me except for the Rhino Driver through the table from the apron. Still a pretty good match though.
Six Sides of Steel: LAX vs. Styles/Daniels
Amazing match. This is basically as good as thier ultimate X match at No Surrender. These are the 2 best tag teams in TNA at this time and this is just an awesome action packed match. This match brings out the best of both teams as well as some good spots such as Styles and Hernandez flying off the top of the cage. Homicide eventually gets the win with the ****** killer on Styles which looks brutal!! the most painful ****** killer I have ever seen.
Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett: Main Even for the TNA title
This match was a great way to end the show as it had that TNA main event feel throughout the whole thing. Sting never looked better as well as Jarrett. Great match and great showing by both of these two
^
FYE.com tends to have pretty solid prices and if you're a member they're about 1-2 bucks cheaper. The DVDs usually run from $10-$15, when they're in stock they have some older DVDs from 2005/2006 that run about $7.99
If you would have told me at the iend of 2005 AJ hadn't had a **** match in TNA since 05, I would have slapped you down like the dog you are, but truth is he hasn't. He has had an awesome match against Tanahashi in NJPW (****) this year, and maybe he'll hit **** again in TNA when he faces Angle down the road.

Bonus Match: Bentley/Petey/Sabin Rematch-***3/4
Pretty good show, the fact that they had too many matches kinda hurts it. Nothing really outwardly bad tho, pretty much entertained me all the way thru.
Definitely suffers from the crowd being burnt out, I think putting the Monsters Ball and Ironman matches back to back was a bad idea. It really left the crowd spent.
06 and 07 are both probably better tho, definitely if you go by quality over quantity.(Plus they weren't held in the IZ, which is always a plus)
edit: So I just got some of my DVD's in the mail, and for some reason the Best of X vol. 2 doesn't have that awesome 6 man tag.(Pretty much the main reason I bought it.)
What's up with the X DVD's having different match listing than what's actually on the tape sometimes? Vol. 1 has the same problem, altho it's not as much of a problem since vol. 1 is awesome and vol. 2 is just a bunch of 6-8 minute Impact matches.
Oh well, atleast it has Joe/Daniels classic match from the Thursday debut.

Ultimate X match was by far the MOTN. Kaz stunning Daniels form the structure is freakin' insane. Daniels selling great.
Beside the opening match there wasn't anything special, but it was solid and entertaining show overall.
Since I've only really seen the great matches from before 07 either online or on comps, I'm trying to watch some of the full ppvs from the past. So what better way to start than in 05.

Some thoughts:
Undercard was a bit meh, but a nice X-divsion match between Skipper and Sonjay.
Never realized how much Devine looked like Charles Robinson
Great tag match between Team Canada and AMW, started off with some brawling on the outside where EY got one nasty looking lump on his forehead. Some great near falls and overall an excellent contest.
Ultimate X was well, awesome. I think everyone's seen this already so I won't go into detail. I almost gave it the full ***** and I definitely wouldn't argue with anybody who did. Easily one of TNA greatest matches ever. I will say just to reiterate the point, that Aj is indeed phenomenal :agree:
Main Event wasn't anything special, but it really was a fun match. All kinds of ref bumps and guitar shots etc the works from your typical Jarret match.
Skipper busting out his new move kinda spoiled who would win.
Nascar guys should never wrestler period, this was complete crap.
Rhodes and Raven seemed to botch the whole damn match.
Full metal Mayhem - was pretty good, with some insane stunts thrown in. The ending was pretty cool, but like TripleG said you could see Hardy wasn't too pleased with the end result. They should have used something other than a Biel to break all those tables.
30 Minute Ironman - My second favorite Tna match besides the Unbreakable 3-way but not too far away. The emotion was off the charts, just seeing Aj struggle to hang on as the blood poured down his face while in that submission move was incredible. Pure wrestling brilliance by both men.
JJ/Nash - Expected crap, but they seemed to know that this wouldn't be a wrestling clinic, so they pulled out all the stops to make it entertaining which it was. The run ins were great and they had some nice brawling on the outside.
Overall, a pretty crummy ppv until the last 2 matches. Definitely worth the watch for the Ironman match.
The Ironman match was great. I thought the PPV was OK, the DDP & Monty Brown vs. Team Canada match really surprised me, I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did.
Sacrifice 2007 was one of TNA's most stacked shows ever. It had a little bit of everything any wrestling fan could possibly ask for.
I liked how ever title match was a Triple Threat Match. I think TNA dropped the ball by not using that as a way to promote the PPV.
- Chris Sabin vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Jay Lethal was easily one of the best X Division title matches of 2007. Lots of fast paced action and good teases with the tension between Sonjay and Lethal (who are FINALLY feuding. Jeez that set that turn up over a year ago) Probably the best PPV opener of the year for TNA (wait, I take that back. LAX vs. XXX at Bound for Glory takes the nod there)
- Robert Roode vs. Jeff Jarrett: Very underrated match. I thought it was one of the better matches on the show actually. It was a very good old school kind of match with great crowd reaction. Adding Jarrett to this angle really gave it a shot in the arm.
- Christopher Daniels vs. Rhino: Solid match. Not much else to say besides that. I actually wish they had done more with this feud, but hey what can you do.
- Kip James vs. Basham & Damaja - It sucked. Thank God it was short.
- Chris Harris vs. James Storm: Texas Deathmatch - Probably my pick for Match of the Year for 2007. I loved it that much. It was insanely violent, but at the same time it had a great story, and kind of felt like an old school Wrestlemania or Starrcade match in the way it was handled. It was great.
- Jerry Lynn vs. Tiger Mask vs. Senshi vs. Alex Shelley - A pretty good filler match. There were some cool spots and I thought Senshi & Tiger Mask had some good chemsitry.
- Team 3D vs. Tomko/Steiner vs. LAX - This match was basically what I expected with all three teams hitting their signature spots and it made for a really fun match. At this point I was sick to death of Team 3D vs. LAX, but adding Steiner/Tomko to the mix was a good way to freshen things up at least a little bit. Pretty good match, and the Steiner Brothers Reunion after the match was a huge mark out moment for me. That was one of the best parts of the PPV actually.
- AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe - Probably the worst match these two have had on PPV, but still really good. AJ did well as the heel and Joe did well with faking his knee injury. One of the better matches on a pretty stacked show for sure.
- Sting vs. Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle - Very good match. It was short, and I thought the ending was probably rushed (some of the other matches went pretty long) but these three were able to come up with some pretty sweet stuff in the time they got. The ending was silly, but it set up the King of the Mountain match very well, so I won't complain.
