FUCK Aries/Roode is so awesome. I think I actually might prefer the Hardcore Justice one but those two just had ridiculously good chemistry in the ring. Have you seen Roode/AJ from impact sometime in may? That's my tna moty atm and it's a really good showing by Roode.

But Tenays reaction to Aries winning is probably the best thing hes done in YEARS. Idk why Tazz is never at destination X, but im not complaining.

Gonna go watch impact mainly to see Storm/Aries which could own. Storms had some really nice impact matches this year (BFG series one with i think it was AJ was like ***1/2-***3/4) and this could be some nice foreshadowing. Don't care much for Roode/Hardy tho

Nah I didn't see that AJ/Roode match yet. Need to watch Roode/Aries from Hardcore Justice right now too.

Hardy/Roode was better than Aries/Storm, btw. Both were good, but the one that got more time benefited. Wasn't too crazy about the finish, yet it was logical.

A proper re-watch:

1. Kid Kash & Gunner vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez

This was the most basic tag match you can see, with a hot beginning, a long face-in-peril segment, and a hot tag leading to a finish. Kid Kash carried this.

**1/2

2. BFG SeriesFalls Count Anywhere: Mr. Anderson (40 pts.) vs. RVD (35 pts.) vs. Magnus (21 pts.)

I was pleasantly surprised, this was a really good 3-Way, the in-ring work was strong and fairly interesting. Anderson and Bob work very well in 3-Ways together, it seems (Hardy, Angle). The star of the match was Magnus, of course. He’s awesome and deserves a big push, he’s tailor made for TV wrestling.

***

3. TV Championship: Devon © vs. Frankie Kazarian

Another classic and very effective hero/villain match with a nice and simple story. I liked this a lot. Devon is one of the best crowd workers today, he’s insanely over, it’s crazy. How could TNA let this guy go?

***

4. Knockouts Championship: Brooke Tessmacher © vs. Madison Rayne

The whole Hebner/Maddie story leading into this was very predictable, but at least it had a logical conclusion, it led somewhere. This was solid.

**1/4

5. BFG SeriesTables Match: Bully Ray (28 pts.) vs. James Storm (66 pts.) vs. Jeff Hardy (35 pts.) vs. Robbie E (5 pts.)

**1/2

6. X Championship: Zema Ion © vs. Kenny King

This was a damn good showcase. Kenny King is an average, generic wrestler, but I gotta admit he was good here, he held his own against Zema, who’s really fucking good. This was an exciting match, with a good finishing stretch. The best singles I’ve ever seen from both guys.

***1/2

7. BFG SeriesLadder Match: AJ Styles (16 pts.) vs. Christopher Daniels (33 pts.) vs. Samoa Joe (54 pts.) vs. Kurt Angle (48 pts.)

This was awesome. Usually I hate stacking the deck against bad guys, but this is where I loved it. I mean, that bald motherfucker Daniels was so mean, and he was such a prick that he deserved the beating of his life. It’s absolutely impressive that a 41-year old veteran takes so many high-impact bumps, it was insane. They demolished him, but Daniels totally owned this match. The best moment was Angle and Joe playing CAN YOU TOP THIS with poor Daniels. This match also has probably the best ending to a ladder match ever. Styles was such a boss.

***1/2

8. World Heavyweight Championship: Austin Aries © vs. Bobby Roode

Not as good as their DX classic, but they worked hard enough to wrestle the MOTN. It was yet another smart, careful, strategic, psychological battle where the stakes were high. The story about Aries’ "fluke" win from DX was told to perfection. The ref bumps stuff was not needed, but I felt like TNA is paying an homage to their past, idk, or something like that. I didn’t like it, but hell – it took the match on another, very dramatic level. The crowd was not very hot here, but fuck them, this was really good.

***1/2

Well, another really good PPV from TNA (4th in a row), with 5 good matches, and there were no stinkers. Let’s see if No Surrender can keep the awesome streak.

I wonder if I'll shit all over the Knockouts match when I check that show out. Probably. Tossed Roode/Aries aside till tomorrow or Saturday. Working on watching some older NWA-TNA gems.

Speaking of...

NWA-TNA #8 (8/7/02) - NWA X-Division Championship Three Way:
AJ Styles(c) vs Jerry Lynn vs Low Ki ~ ****3/4

NWA-TNA #18 (10/30/02) - NWA X-Division Championship:
AJ Styles(c) vs Amazing Red ~ ****

NWA-TNA #50 (6/25/03) - NWA Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match:
Triple X(c) vs America's Most Wanted ~ ****1/4

So yeah. That three way is definitely making my list. So glad to see it held up after all these years. It blew me away then and it blew me away now. >>>>>>> the three way Ladder match that they would have a few weeks later. Really one of those defining X-Division matches. Have to say that I think only the Unbreakable three way and Styles/Joe from Turning Point 2005 has it beat.

Styles/Red is a bliztkrieg blast. Always fun to watch. While it's a superb sprint, I really can see it not making it on my list. Probably the #1 honorable mention.

What can you say about Triple X & AMW when they meet in cages? It's always legit. They topped it when it came to Turning Point, but this first clash was a clear sign that they were on to 5 star perfection. Would have been ****1/2 if Harris didn't botch the original Death Sentence at the end. Still, the one from the top of the cage is un"friggin"believable. Daniels was CRUSHED. He's always gonna be the man for what he gives and takes for the biz.

Hardcore Justice 2012

Chavo/Hernandez vs Kash/Gunner - *1/2
Magnus/RVD/Anderson - **1/4 (Magnus fucking ruled this tho, agree w/ Joe on that)
Kaz/Devon - **3/4
KO Title - Didn't watch
Table 4 way - ***1/4
X Division - ***1/4
Ladder Match - **** (Daniels took a BEATING)

Reserving judgement on the ME till i rewatch it. Think I have it at around **** tho. Remember actually liking the ref bumps, think it was well done.

But goddamn that Hebner/Madison garbage. She kept the title for like two weeks and then it was just dropped. What the fuck

Aries/Storm > Roode/Hardy imo. Liked the sequence leading up to Aries' suicide dive, which was sick as fuck. I really dug the match, kept a good pace and the finish was like you said, logical. W/ Aries looking more heely then I'd definitely be down for Aries/Storm on PPV. Impact got me super hyped for the street fight too.

I didn't even know AMW/XXX had a NWA/TNA match prior to Turning Point. HAVE to catch that since turning point is at worst in my top 3 and quite possibly my no 1. Gonna go burn through the rest of Aries today though, might watch AJ/Angle vs Kazaniels from Slammy too since I've got the full show and it'd be a nice precursor going into sunday.

I got into Hardy/Roode more, personally. Guess it was the more appealing match for me so I bought into every moment.

Dude, Triple X & AMW had a big time rivalry long before Turning Point, haha. It's what made the culmination for the "losing team splits up" so immense. The Turning Point cage is my * gasp! spoiler alert* number one pick for now. I have the Unbreakable dvd here atm. I got to give the main event one more go around and see where they stand. Don't think it's gonna change. I'm sold on how brilliant every moment of the steel cage match is.

I knew about the feud (albeit apparently not enough ) But I've only seen Turning Point and Victory Road 04 matches, which were amusingly different in how one was AWESOME and the other was...yeah.

I haven't seen NEARLY enough weekly ppv matches though. I keep telling myself I'll try and work through them at some point.

I'm pretty sure I prefer the cage match over the unbreakable 3 way. Biggest competition for no 1 is Joe/AJ turning point, tbh.

The whole "dirty ref Hebner" story was introduced to TV in order to bring in that cute big boobie blonde ref, so it led somewhere at least.

TARYN TERREL, oh yeah. (I totally think of devons kids whenever i hear her name now)

Shows how much I'm invested in the KO's. I don't even hate tessmacher that much, im sure she and gail put on a good match at Sacrifice this year.

btw:

Slammiversary 2012 : Austin Aries vs Samoa Joe

Crowd was awesome for this and the match hyped them up beautifully. You can tell these two enjoy working together and it had all you could ask for in an x division opener. Joe bossed this, THIS is a guy I could watch wrestle every week as tv champ.

****

Slammiversary 2012 : Christopher Daniels & Kazarian vs AJ Styles and Kurt Angle

Kay this is better than I remember. AJ sells beautifully, WTTCOTW have some great double team workovers and moves (neckbreaker/powerbomb looks real nice) and I'd love to have seen them go up against MCMG. Kurt rocks the world in the hot tag and nothing feels overdone by him at all. Balls to the wall action and while not my MOTN, definite great match, if lacking that little bit to go a full 4 stars.
