Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I'd give Angle/Hardy ****, Aries/Ion ***1/2, and the AJ tag ***. The rest is pretty skippable.

Amazing match, both men play their part perfectly, Joe is a beast and dominates Styles throughout the match while AJ shows an endless ammount of heart when firing back and fighting for survival against this beast.

Ton of great action, sick submissions, STIFF kicks, and crazy high flying moves. It's a total war that takes both men to their limits. A must see.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

My personal pick for best TNA match too. It's the whole reason why I bought Turning Point 2005. Entertaining show as a whole, but WELL worth any price to own Joe vs Styles.

And to extend my love for Chris Sabin even further, I have recently purchased a set which has all of his matches from the NWA-TNA Weekly PPV days. To say I'm PUMPED to watch would be along the lines of, oh, I don't know, the understatement of the century.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Looking back at the rosters for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 ppvs, i think TNA has a MUCH better roster now.

The past it, big names have mostly gone and dont take up much time, and we are seeing new guys emerge into the main events.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Any of his matches vs AJ Styles during the 2003 days. A couple of those Jarrett matches too had good drama in thinking he'd actually become the NWA World Champ. His wars with Shane Douglas were entertaining too. I'm a bit fuzzy on the specific dates, but all these listed all happened in 2003. He happened to team with CM Punk for a bit too. So if you dig the Punker, then that might offer some appeal.

Some later matches to see are all his "Summer of Raven" matches: vs Abyss Dog Collar Match from No Surrender 2005, w/Sabu vs Jarrett/Rhino from Sacrifice 2005, King of the Mountain from Slammiversary 2005, & vs Rhino Unbreakable. Had some good gimmick bouts vs Sean Waltman too at Hard Justice 2005 & Final Resolution 2006. I'm sure some of the matches from 2005 & 2006 on Impact can be fun and worth seeing too. He had a couple vs Abyss & Brother Runt which were entertaining brawls. I like to think all of this will be available to find online. The PPV matches should be a lock via youtube or dailymotion or something. Torrents would probably hook you up for the rest.

Or if you get a taste and like what you see, you can always purchase the Nevermore: Best of Raven set TNA released back in 2004. I'm a RAVEN fan haha.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I am meaning to extend my TNA DVD collection, I saw some place back in my home city having some at pretty reasonable prices (like £5/6) so when I'm back from uni next I'll have a browse about.

I saw the match w/ Sabu vs Jarrett/Rhino not long ago when I watched the 05 sacrifice as a whole, actually what motivated me to look into more Raven. Some of the NWA/TNA stuff looks fun and I've found whenever I've went back to watch matches from there they've been good mostly. I do like Punk and remember the two of them tagging but my memory of it is fuzzy so it clearly didn't leave THAT much of an effect on me. Plus gimmick matches are always fun if they have the right people in them (like Bully Ray from the current roster) and I'm pretty confident Raven would own in them.
