Hard to care for the bland guys versus explosive talents with personality like Aries and now seemingly Ion too.

Tag Division...idk where to start with that. Look who the champs are. Easy to see it's in shambles right now.
Agreed on the Zema Ion/Nese series. Watched the first match and it was solid. Four way at genesis should be a good match but again I agree on it being needless. Why have only one of the participants of it need to qualify? Why not make Kash/Sorensen work for it too, maybe against Shelly/Kazarian. It's not like they're doing anything.. Ion's little narcissistic thing during the match was nice too.

Tag division is depressing to even think about considering how good it was. Morgan/Crimson as champs are bleh and I can see it staying that way for a bit. The wildcard thing reeks of desperation to me but if it maybe sparks a decent tag team and not just rivals together like Steiner/Abyss or comedy teams like ODB/EY then I'll be happy. If Joe still looked like he gave a damn then I'd be excited for the team of him and Magnus.

I need to extend my collection of old TNA matches, from like 2006-2009. From what I hear it wasn't bad, shame I wasn't really watching wrestling much then.

From Sacrifice 05 to Bound For Glory 06 the shows are all solid, then after that its all hit or miss.

It goes back to the point that apparently the X Division is only around Aries, Kash, & Sorensen for the time being. Don't know why it has to only be based around those guys when they have others to make it more diverse.

Tag Division out of nowhere crumbled. It happened within a blink of an eye. I'm open to the Joe/Magnus team right now. If it can turn into something legit I'll welcome it. Magnus does nothing and Joe is in need of something to make him feel motivated to work. Plus this random team is a lot more appealing than the random tag champs right now, imo.

Throw in 2005 show too, man. 2005 & 2006 are easily their prime years. The product was so much fun to watch. They only had an hour for Impact back then and it came off better than it ever did with two hours. Which I never quite understood. The company was just on point.

I'm fine with those two being in and around the title picture but it seems like it's just wasting other and probably better talent. I don't really care much for Kash or Sorensen either compared to Kaz, Shelly and Kendrick, which hardly helps. Aries as champion keeps me interested though I guess, and this best of 3 series.

I'm the same on Joe/Magnus, they seemed to work well together and Joe still has something in the ring which is nice to see. If he can get that spark back then all the better. Is it too much to ask for a tag team that isn't totally formed out of midair though? Sure it works in some situations but it seems like they're just pushing it now.

1 hour impacts were definitely fun, I don't mind the two hour shows. I caught some of the early 2005 stuff I think which I was a fan of. Was that around the time of Paparassi Productions? That's still one of my favourite things I've seen TNA do. I'll definitely go back and check those years out though.

I don't object much to Kash being used, but I can't get into Sorensen. The definition of bland. Aries is great enough so I'm glad that he's the focus of the division right now.

It would be nice. Mexican America might have sucked, but at least the unity with them wasn't all because they randomly paired together one night. Lets hope Joe/Magnus could sit well and other teams can roll on the scene. Once Sabin finally returns, then the Guns will be back too. Which is a great plus.

The two hour shows didn't change much of the format from the one hour ones. That's what my gripe generally is. They have a whole extra hour to showcase the roster, yet so many guys are left off. Austin Aries hasn't been on Impact in about 2-3 weeks now. A champion that isn't on the program? c'mon now. Same with James Storm. He beats Kurt Angle clean on a PPV and he gets one minor mention on Impact and isn't shown. Why would they do that. Showcase the talent. They don't all have to work a match, but something is something.

Yeah, 2006 was the year with the Paparazzi stuff. Nash was so awesome during that run. It still gets me today, haha.

My only issue with the X Divison is it seems like there's no big face to go up against Aries now they've done him v Kendrick. The fact they aren't willing to put Kaz or Shelleey in there is baffling too, especially over Sorensen. I like Kash to an extent but I probably wouldn't have put him in the 4 way. It'll at least be a good match.

When is Sabin back? Feels like he's been gone forever which sucks. The fact that there still isn't any real teams for them to work with is depressing, but them being back will still be great to see.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, I mean I fully expected Storm to interrupt Angle on the last impact when he was calling out Sting, but nothing. Aries should've been on commentary for the Nese/Ion match, considering the winner gets to face him. But nothing again. Instead we get to see Devons kids turn heel on him (which was unintentionally hilarious to me)

Gonna watch the 05 Sacrifice tonight, Joe/Styles in particular should be great, Joe in his prime is still one of my favourite wrestlers to watch. He was just fantastic imo.

edit ~ Got sidetracked and ended up watching a match from the '07 Sacrifice instead on the recommendation of a friend:

Chris Sabin vs Sonjay Dutt vs "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal - **** - Incredibly fun, fast paced match. Sabin plays the heel very well and tries to exploit the rift between Dutt and Lethal whereas Lethal tries to convince Dutt to team up against Sabin. All in all Dutt steals the show for me with an awesome performace but everyone in the match plays their part. Sabin steals the win with a roll up after an altercation between Dutt and Lethal before NASH comes out in the end to try and break the two of them up. Great opener for the show, crowd seemed really up for it.

With the weight limit, idk if Kazarian "meets" it. I could be wrong. How heavy could he be? Shelley makes it however. Yet, they're only content on using him once Sabin returns. Lame...although I'll look at is as a fact that maybe they plan on using the Guns when they can be a team once again. Aries has no competition. Face competition I mean. It's so weak. Please, please use more or build them with personality. Nese has better ring work than Sorensen just by what I have seen. Give him personality and use him. That might be something.

I don't when Sabin will return. I literally said today that it feels like he's been injured for about a year or longer. I hate it. He went from having a good 2010 year with the Tag Team Championship run to having a totally defunct 2011 thanks to the injury.

It was unintentionally funny. I didn't laugh as much as I said it was just so horrible that I couldn't help but chuckle. Like you said, we got that instead of seeing James Storm or the X Division champion. Nice job.

Damn good PPV that is. Joe vs Styles is AWESOME. I'm always gonna love Joe haha. He was easily something special.

I remember that match. It was in the thick of Sabin's awesome, imo, heel run with the gold. That was probably my favorite moment of 2007 just from a personal mark out perspective. Even though he had to deal with that...well wacky Bob Backlund nonsense. TNA is lucky I <3 Backlund. I don't know what I could rate it as it was a good while when I last saw, but that was EASILY the MOTN. Then again Joe vs Styles occurs and I recall that being another good match as expected. Had no build, but people like me didn't care much haha.

Fuck I totally forgot they implemented a weight limit, ah well if kaz doesn't meet it I still don't see why they can't put him in the TV title picture, it'd at least be a step towards making it seem worth something rather than just being a prop. The lack of faces in the X Divison does suck, another reason why they could use Shelley. Nese did seem very bland in the first match but idk they might give him something to work with in the next two, even though it seems like they're building towards ion winning, adding yet another heel to the title picture.

Sucks for Sabin, watching him last night made me realise how much talent he has its a shame the Guns are coming back to a pretty awful tag division though, at least they'll sort of breath life into it and maybe make TNA think about giving them a decent team to work with.

Yeah I saw Joe/Styles from the 07 show last night, which was pretty awesome so I'm psyched to get round to watching their 05 match now

Triple threat was easily MOTN from the matches I saw (Daniels/Rhino, Styles/Joe, Jarrett/Roode) but the from what I saw the show as a whole was solid and the main event of Christian/Angle/Sting looked good but I couldn't find it on dailymotion. Sabin played the heel so well though, just little things like spitting in his hands and rubbing them in Sonjays face, or pushing him and Lethal together and running out the ring. The fact the crowd were split on him though shows what a talent he was though, plus he hit some awesome moves during the match. I'm tempted to go look up more Sabin, forgot how great he is

Yeah, I'm not into the weight limit at all. The restrictions contradict what made the division different in the first place. No limits. Just high octane action to give the fans the best matches possible. Nese could use a gimmick. Any personality is welcomed. Another heel in the mix is ugg just because, as we both said, they totally outweigh the faces in the "division". Use the term in quotes because there isn't much there when you get right down to it.

It's too bad the Guns have to return to it when it is depleted. However maybe they could be the spark the company needs to refresh it. Or perhaps I'm putting too much stock in MCMG and TNA's booking.

YES. The Sacrifice 2005 match is even better I'd say. You're in store for some massive amounts of AWESOME. Jarrett/Roode was . I always liked that match. Good PPV to boot. One of the better ones in 2007, that's for sure. The Chris Harris vs James Storm match is a must see btw. That year had it's good moments and matches. Although some PPVs suffered from the dreaded overbooking. Hard Justice 2007 in general is a really poor show. Despite the opener being good...which had Sabin in it. (along with Shelley, Low Ki, Daniels, Lethal, & Dutt) Shocking, right?

Absolutely. As about the biggest Chris Sabin fan I've seen around these parts, I can 100% agree. I've loved his work from the moment I found out about TNA. He was the draw for me. First guy I latched towards and said "wow, this alternative is great." If you're down to see more from him, especially in a heel capacity, his heel work from 2003 always entertained me too. Works a great 8 minute match vs Paul London. I could find the week for ya if you're curious. However, I'm sure if you search for it on youtube you can find it along with many others. Heel or face, he'll always prove to be worth a watch. I'm very biased but you seem to love Sabin too so you can easily go along with this haha.
